The Tim Conway Jr Show Hour 3 (7.30)
Boyle Heights residents are calling this the worst summer they can remember — fire, rats, toxics, and now the tunnels. 😳
Built in the 1920s and '30s, roughly 220 pedestrian tunnels were dug across Los Angeles to give schoolchildren a safe way to cross streets as car traffic exploded and accidents piled up. A century later, most of them sit forgotten — and residents say the neglect has turned them into magnets for squatters, trash, and illicit activity. We get into what these putrid passageways look like today, and how a good idea from 1930 became a problem in 2026. Plus: what exactly ARE bears looking for in your trash? 🐻🗑️
Then — beef prices are surging and fast food is taking the hit. Are you struggling to swallow what a drive-thru run costs now? 🍔 We compare notes on Chick-fil-A at night (somehow the energy of back-to-school night) and make the case for Carney's chili cheeseburgers as the last honest deal in town.
LA28 has officially cleared 4 million tickets sold, setting a new benchmark ahead of the Games. 🏅 We also cover a serious story out of Chino Hills: San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies shot and killed a kidnapping suspect late Wednesday night on Wandering Ridge Drive after a pursuit. Authorities say the suspect fatally shot an abducted victim who was in the trunk of the car before deputies opened fire.
And we close on the good stuff — Burbank Airport's new terminal opens this fall, and once LAX finally gets the people mover running, this city's air travel is going to be beautiful AND functional. ✈️ We're calling it now: you're going to love it.
Tunnels, burgers, and a city that's changing fast. Hit play. 🎧
