Hour 1 (9.09) NFL kickoff arrives just in time to hide from a blistering LA heat wave — Timmy’s wife hit 114 degrees in the car! — while a 20-acre brush fire in the Sepulveda Pass near Bel Air is mostly contained but still filling the air with smoke. CHP is shutting down 405 exits between Sunset and the Skirball Center because of the fire.  

A Delta Air Lines flight from LA to Salt Lake City also gave passengers a mid-air scare when the oxygen masks dropped and the plane descended 27,000 feet in 10 minutes.  

Closer to home, Sherman Oaks landmark Pineapple Hill Saloon & Grill — a Valley watering hole in the same strip mall for 50 years — is being forced out for new development; owner Angela Marsden is fighting to return after the rebuild and asking fans to sign the petition at pineapplehill.com. Down the coast, Dana Point survived Hurricane Marie’s flooding, but the sand is gone and beachfront homes now sit against the water, a potential disaster for residents without solid insurance.

Hour 2 (9.09) Another high tide is heading for already-battered beach houses while LA stays brutally hot — and in Topanga, former TV producer energy has spawned Canyon View Ranch, a five-acre Disneyland for dogs with AC napping chalets, bone-shaped pools, tunnels, grass fields and waterfalls for frolicking. Timmy’s ready for a new puppy.  

Then NASCAR legend-turned-developer Boris Said unveils Elsinore Ring in Lake Elsinore, a private motorsports playground with condos about 70 miles from LA, for people who like their toys loud and expensive.  

In studio, college party promoter Dylan Hennessy and Hollywood music agent Miles Goldman, push "Rolling Loud: The Movie" — "The Hangover" at a hip-hop festival, with Owen Wilson, Matt Rife, Travis Scott, Sexyy Red, and Ty Dolla $ign. Hour 3 (9.09) A man’s been popped for trespassing on Kris Jenner’s Lost Hills estate — fame and money will do that — while a Torrance HOA slaps condo owners with a nearly $50,000-per-unit special assessment for re-piping, elevators and a podium upgrade.

Down the coast, Capistrano Beach in Dana Point is under a state of emergency after hurricane-driven high tide wrecked beachfront homes, with more places red-tagged on Sea Level Lane (seriously) in Malibu, and locals say the Coastal Commission is more red tape than rescue.
