Followed by Calling All Cars, originally broadcast September 17, 1936, 89 years ago, The Verdugo Hills Murder.   A carpenter and his girlfriend find a woman with her throat cut. The killer first broke a beer bottle over the woman's head.

Finally, Lum and Abner, originally broadcast September 17, 1942, 83 years ago, New Teacher Named Sloane.   Lum is not too thrilled with the new school teacher and plans to resign from the school board...until he learns that the new teacher's a lady!

He orders the lover to kill the wife when he hears the Cesar Franck symphony (that happens to be the program's theme song).

Followed by Boston Blackie starring Dick Kollmar, originally broadcast September 10, 1946, 79 years ago,  The Backstage Murder.  Blackie dons tights and greasepaint to perform in, "The Mikado." Murder takes a bow, with marked cards found on the corpse. 

Finally. Lum and Abner, originally broadcast September 10, 1942, 83 years ago, Horrors of Nazi Germany.  A German-American in the Jot 'Em Down Store describes the horrors of Nazism in an obvious appeal for the purchase of war bonds.
