Don Ameche and guest Gladys George appear in a sketch entitled Personal Appearance. W. C. Fields announces that he's leaving on vacation. The verbal battle with Charlie McCarthy continues. 


Followed by The Mercury Theater On The Air, originally broadcast July 11, 1938, 86 years ago, Dracula starring Martin Gabel.  First show of the series.  An adaptation of the Bram Stoker novel as only Orson Welles could do it. 


Finally Superman, originally broadcast July 11, 1941, 83 years ago, Fur Smuggling.    Fred Harmon kills himself! A rare example of suicide on a show meant for kids. Clark Kent, Jimmy Olsen and Batiste (the guide) are camping in the North Woods. They're being watched; what's going on?  Bud Collyer is Clark Kent/Superman and Jackie Kelk is Jimmy Olson.
