Arshdeep Bains had the lone Vancouver Canucks goal in their 3-1 loss to the Calgary Flames. Calgary iced a very veteran lineup and had not trouble with the Canucks squad filled will prospects and minor-leaguers.

The Canucks reduced their numbers by 11 players today with Adam Novotny and Braeden Cootes among those still with the team. They will travel to Calgary to take on the Flames in preseason action on Tuesday night.

With the quick Canucks training camp now concluded, I take a look at players who improved their stock - and players whose stock may have dropped - coming out of training camp in Penticton.

Manny Malhotra unveiled some intriguing forward lines and d-pairings on day 1 of Vancouver Canucks training camp. He also set the tone with clear communication, loud instructions, and even participating in the line skates.

Can/should we read anything into the combos?
