Clay's Canucks Commentary

I tried to recap the Canucks' 6-3 win over the Chicago

Blackhawks but was instead blown away by the generosity of the CCC Crew!

Have a listen for yourself.

We went over the forward lines and D pairings from practice today as the Canucks prepare to face Connor Bedard and the Blackhawks. JT Miller missed practice on a maintenance day, while Dakota Joshua continues to practice in a non-contact jersey.

It took 5 games to get there, but the Canucks are now over .500 for the season. Are you confident that they have turned the corner after a shaky start to the season? Or are there still a lot of question marks for you?

JT Miller played overtime hero in the Canucks' first win of the season: a 3-2 win over the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers.

Erik Brannstrom made his Canucks debut, and Kevin Lankinen was outstanding in net.

Despite winning the special teams battle, the Canucks dropped a 4-1 decision to Tampa Bay in the Lightning home opener.

While it may still be a tad early to panic, you can certain sense some unrest among the Canucks fan base.

I recap my 24 Hour Livestream from the weekend, and then I preview the Canucks four-game road trip that kicks off in Tampa Bay on Tuesday night.

Despite a red-hot start to the game, the Canucks ended up giving up four unanswered goals to the Flames en route to a 6-5 overtime loss.

Brock Boeser, Quinn Hughes, and JT Miller had 2 points each to lead the Canucks.

We predict the result of tomorrow night's season opener vs. the Calgary Flames.

Spoiler alert: Canucks fans a pretty optimistic.

The Canucks' opening day roster includes Aatu Raty but not Arshdeep Bains. As well, Thatcher Demko and Dakota Joshua will start the season on IR.

Given the Tucker Poolman trade, the Canucks were able to declare a roster of 23 active players PLUS Demko and Joshua...and all under the salary cap!

It was a very busy for GM Patrik Allvin and the Canucks as they traded Tucker Poolman and a 4th round pick to the Colorado Avalanche for Erik Brannstrom.

Then, they signed Nils Hoglander to a 3 year contract extension worth $3M per season.
