Today we are having a conversation with Sindile Vabaza. Sindile is an avid writer and researcher. He’s an author on the Mail & Guardian, News24, BusinessLive, Daily Friend to name and numerous other good South African news and opinion platforms, and he an aspiring economist.

We’re talking today about the 8-day strike which we all witnessed in the Western Cape between the City of Cape Town and SANTACO which left thousands stranded and many injured in its wake.

Sindile answers the questions on how we got here, how we can have a thriving public transport system where all are subject to the rule of law and what we citizens should expect from the people that govern us.

I end off with a biblical take on what our expectations should be of our leaders, and what God commands of us as Christians when it comes to how we relate to those in power.

Today’s topic is the interpretation of scripture and how we should go about this in order to understand the meaning of the texts we read.

I go into the purpose of the word of God; what terms such as Hermeneutics, Exegesis and Eisegesis mean in terms of how we approach the word of God, and give some examples of these in how we interpret the word. I also speak to common pitfalls in our interpretation of scripture and share some useful tools to aid us in our understanding thereof.

This episode is for both the new and the mature believer and is in order to remind us to handle scripture with care, and not as we would a menu.

Today we’re talking about a growing trend we see which is a resentment towards children and in some instances those who have them.

I go into what the bible has to say about children and contrast that with where we find our selves in society today and also in history.

I also lay a case as to why, in our own way and based on the data, South Africa is very anti-children.

Lastly, I speak to why it is important that Christians are not lured into supporting movements because of buzzwords, but to understand the biblical implications and the fruits of worldviews we encounter on a daily basis.

Today we’re talking about a very interesting topic- progressivism. We’ll try to answer the question on whether this is good or bad.

This is a very important topic today because of the rise of the “authority-of-self movement”.

I’ve said often on this podcast that as Christians our ultimate authority is the word of God. We do however, live in a very unique society today, and at first glance it can be very easy to believe that the bible doesn’t sufficiently address issues we face today.

As we talk about progressivism it can certainly feel as if where we are today is a never before seen place. But really, it isn’t in a lot of ways.

This episode will also educate you and assist you in being able to sift and think through ideas you encounter on a day-to-day basis and thoughtfully compare them to the biblical worldview we strive to hold as Christians.
