This week, we look at the critical need to reckon with the loss and damage created by the climate crisis and hold accountable the nations most responsible for human-caused climate change as a result of the massive rise in greenhouse gas emissions. To discuss this topic, Professor Saleemul Huq, who has many roles including the Director of the International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) in Bangladesh, Professor at the Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) and Associate of the International Institute on Environment and Development (IIED) in the United Kingdom. He explains what the Global North needs to do in order to address loss and damage, why the conversation on loss and damage has never been more critical, and what's happening in ongoing international negotiations in 2022.
