Dr. Maurice Pickard speaks with Cdr. Jadick, who feels his decoration of valor should be shared with his corpmen. His story demonstrates why corpmen are the most decorated part of the military. "Corpman Up" tells it all ---this is the command among U.S. Marines that they are coming for a downed soldier no matter what. Cdr Jadick had been a Marine for 7 years before he went to medical school, and he reflects on his missions from a soldier/doctor's perspective.

Dr. Maurice Pickard discusses the above book with its author, who is the only Navy doctor to be decorated for valor while serving in Iraq. He had to shorten the "golden hour" in delivering care to wounded marines, so he advanced his operating room into an abandoned building in the middle of a fire fight in Fallujah. His commanding officer felt he saved the lives of 30 Marines by his bold decision to bring doctors to the patient.
