Clive started off the week by asking if you were Prime Minister, what would you do ? This was of course in conjunction with Liz Truss being announced as the new PM and conservative party leader. We spoke to Jimmy Hendrie who shocked Clive with stats and figures to do with accidents happening on site due to possible alcohol and substance abuse.
Then the Big Guy focused on the cost of energy and how it's impacting your business. He spoke to James Butcher - Head of Policy at the National Federation of Builders and owner of Hodgkinson builders, Ian Hodgkinson.
Then Clive looked at whether construction workers are downing tools on their own businesses and taking them to a larger house builder for a more steady income in these hard times where energy, materials and fuel prices have gone through the roof. He spoke to Andy Prendergast - National Secretary for the GMB union, carpenter David Byrne and The Yorkshire Stone Dresser, James Robinson.
And to finish off proceedings Clive asked what was the biggest freebie you have given a client and why? Do family and friends catch you for work here and there? We heard some great stories from Dan of the Job and knock Podcast, Roofer Denis Richardson and Dean Saxton of Saxton Building Solutions limited.
