This felt like a good one to stick with Buffy. Pat Benatar herself was a badass and she also delivered a lot of pretty cool music videos. The pinnacle of them would be “Love Is A Battlefield”, easily. This one tells a story and has a bit of goofiness to it as well. Oh, and it’s the first music video to ever have spoken dialogue in it, too!
Jennifer Wreyford returns to discuss the music video, which she had never seen prior to this. She also schools me on the old profession of “Taxi Dancer”. This is a terrific conversation and the reflection on the old art form of the music video continues to be some of the most fun I’m having on the show.
Due to copyright and fair use laws as well as Apple and Spotify sweeps for such things, I’m not going to roll the dice and be including a clip of the song in the episode. However, you can watch the entire video before listening right here.
The Brandon Peters Show will return next week with Bobbie Jo and The Outlaw (1976) featuring Mike Vanderbilt (Halloweenies, Windy City Double Features)
Vocals

Jennifer – Unknown Microphone (Recorded with ZOOM)
