November is a big month for physical media collecting nerds like myself. There are of course many sales on Black Friday as well as secret title drops and big price drops from boutique labels like Vinegar Syndrome and Severin Films. But, for the whole month, its 50% of the Criterion Collection at Barnes & Noble.
Criterion has long been in the game for boutique labels but a staple for shining a light on the best of international films and creators, independents, forgotten gems and providing the must boffo releases in terms of bonus features and film presentations.
Being around for 40 years, Aaron Neuwirth and I have decided to concoct lists of what the most Criterion Criterion Collection titles of all time are. What have been stapes, what movies have had their best foot put forward with a Criterion release and other factors. Listeners, please chime in to share with us your favorites as well!

Doctoberfest 2024: INFILTRATE was held on October 19th at Who North America located in Camby, IN. This year’s event was held completely on the grounds of the store. I was honoured to be welcomed back to do media coverage for another year.
This year’s special guest was Keith Barnfather, a legend in the realm of documentary and spin-offs focused on Doctor Who. In addition, there were many authors included as guests as well. That included Zepo Publishing who debuted their book How To Celebrate Your Fandom at the event.
This is the podcast edition of the episode. My youtube channel (youtube.com/brandonpetersshow) includes video coverage of the event as well as some additional pieces with some of the vendors/artists that appeared. Whichever way you choose to experience, I humbly thank you.

After 2 weeks of Terrifier, it’s time to go a little bit lighter! Jessica returns and we talk her fave Adam Sandler…i think for the first time since she was on the show (October 2020) and we chatted Hubie Halloween. Now its time for 2000’s heavy metal inspired Little Nicky.
Happy Halloween and Trick or Treat!

This is it! You’ve had 2 weekends to catch up with Terrifer 3. On this episode, Greg and I will be giving our spoiler-heavy review. We also ponder the Mount Rushmore of Final Girls. Who would yours be?
For those of you not into Terrifier/Art the Clown, the Halloween episode next week will be of much lighter fare!

For this year’s spooky retro we are talking Terrifier. I couldn’t help myself. I became a huge fan of the Art the Clown exploits with 2022’s Terrifier 2 and one of my most hyped/anticipated films of 2024 is its follow up Terrifier 3.
I realize these aren’t for everyone, but I’ve been chomping at the bit to discuss them SOMEWHERE, so why not on my show. Greg McGoon is back, as he is also a big fan of the Art exploits and we go on for quite some time on Terrifier 2. So if you enjoy long episodes…here you go!
We’ll be back next week for Terrifier 3. So you have a chance to catch up and see that one in weekend 2. Our review will be SPOILER FILLED (as are these)!

And it’s finally here – Poorly Described Movies: The Game LIVE at Days of the Dead Indianapolis 2024.
Chris and I had another good time putting the show on, but were taken by surprise (or were we?) with the more knowledgeable than most crowd we drew at Days of the Dead.
We did have some fun drawing a horse to water with tricking our contestants into thinking we were describing another movie. See how you do with these. We hope to bring this back to Days of the Dead in 2025.

I can’t believe it’s been 2 years since Justin Beahm was on the show. But I’d pegged this as an episode I wanted to do once he pulled it off. Off the air, he’d told me about his bucket list goal of getting Martin Scorsese’s under-appreciated 1999 film Bringing Out The Dead starring Nicolas Cage out onto Blu-ray. Then 2 years ago he told me he had the greenlight, but some scheduling took it awhile.
However, on September 17th, 2024, Bringing Out The Dead was brought to 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray in a limited collector’s edition from Paramount Presents featuring new interviews Justin conducted with Martin Scorsese, Nicolas Cage, Paul Schrader and Robert Richardson.
In this episode, Justin tells his fantastic story of putting this all together for an incredible physical media release of a film begging for rediscovery/reappraisal.

As we so do to wrap up a PopCon Live Podcast Stage – Its time for Poorly Described Movies: The Game. This is the first time it has been done at Louisville and the 3rd one this year!
Chris Johnson was unable to attend as he’s got his first little one due any day now, so Patches sat in with me and I’d say he did an admirable job.
This game continues to be loads of fun and I cannot wait to do it again!
The Brandon Peters Show will Monday with “The Making of the Paramount Presents: Bringing Out The Dead 4K UHD Blu-ray with Justin Beahm”.

While I don’t feature in this live recording, I wanted to capture it and have it out in the ether. Les Eller is the head of volunteers for PopCon and has been there since its beginnings. He came to me with an idea to have him and his assistant Amy do a panel/podcast recording about the experience of volunteering at a convention and how you can get involved if you’re curious.
A little bit in, they are joined by other area lead volunteers Jessica (celebrity handling) and Amber (vendor registration) to die even deeper. Turned out to be a nice success as people perusing by stopped in to listen, ask questions and express their desire to volunteer for PopCon Indianapolis 2025.
As such, I want this recording to exist somewhere for anyone who has ever been curious about what goes on or has interest in volunteering at a pop culture convention no matter where or which one. I hope this serves as a valid resource and showcases the kind of terrific, fun people you get to work with.

Abdul-Hakim Shabazz is a pretty renowned political media personality in the state of Indiana. Don’t worry folks, politics are not discussed in this recording. He also served as a celebrity panel moderator at PopCon Louisville.
My dear friend KJ suggested I bring him on the Live Podcast Stage as his nerdy side doesn’t get to pop out of him very often. And I’m glad I took her suggestion as Abdul has a historic knowledge of comic books and collecting. He’s also an old school Trekkie. It was a lot of fun to meet and chat with him as he shared his time with me before he left back to Indiana on the last day of PopCon Louisville.
