November is a big month for physical media collecting nerds like myself. There are of course many sales on Black Friday as well as secret title drops and big price drops from boutique labels like Vinegar Syndrome and Severin Films. But, for the whole month, its 50% of the Criterion Collection at Barnes & Noble.
Criterion has long been in the game for boutique labels but a staple for shining a light on the best of international films and creators, independents, forgotten gems and providing the must boffo releases in terms of bonus features and film presentations.
Being around for 40 years, Aaron Neuwirth and I have decided to concoct lists of what the most Criterion Criterion Collection titles of all time are. What have been stapes, what movies have had their best foot put forward with a Criterion release and other factors. Listeners, please chime in to share with us your favorites as well!
The Brandon Peters Show will return with special guest Mark Hofmeyer of Movies, Films & Flix and “The 10 Greatest Directorial Debuts of All Time”
