  • Closure Optional Ep.8 – Kurt Chatfield, Musician

Kurt is a musician, a philosopher and a psychedelic explorer – this conversation is whirlpool of ideas in which we attempt to make sense of the human condition. From Comedy and fighting to DMT and metaphorical yachts, this podcast is a fun glimpse into the insides of our (probably) unhinged brains.

  • Closure Optional Ep. 7 – Zoe Hargrave, Musician

Oh my this is a nice episode – Zoe serenades us with some lovely tunes and we talk about music, creativity in general and fear of failure. Also, religious cults, and that extracting semen out of a cult leader probably isn't the path to God.

In this episode we discuss all of those things; we talk about the causes and impacts of both of our previous drug habits, how psychedelics helped us kick them, and how CryptoCurrencies can make you a millionaire if you're paranoid enough to get your retirement funds out of the government's reptilian hands.

  • Closure Optional Ep. 5 – Iggy McGowan, MuayThai Trainer and Mindset Mentor

Iggy specialises in mind and body transformation through his company Via Bellatoris. He is a MuayThai and Boxing fight trainer, personal trainer, massage therapist, mindset mentor, and an incredibly valuable asset to have in my corner.

In this episode, we discuss ways to make powerful decisions rather than living as a victim to your own excuses, habits and fears. We discuss why we sabotage our own happiness in relationships and in the pursuit of our goals, why people-pleasing leads to self-loathing and why excuses seem easier than responsibility.

  • Closure Optional Ep. 4 – Melina Yung, Muay Thai Fighter

Melina is a Muay Thai Fighter and owner of NRF Australia. She retired from fighting last year after 20 fights (and a WMC Queensland State Title), to travel around the country for 6 months in a van (with her cat) in order to develop her business to its full potential. She's a funny, kind, and thoughtful person and this conversation is a very raw and honest look at why we might let our previous life experiences get in the way of our happiness.

  • Closure Optional Ep. 3 – Shayne Hunter, Comedian

This episode of Closure Optional is about our SELF, how it feels to be a person, and how public speaking turns humans into evolutionary rejects. Shayne is a Stand-up Comedian; he's been doing comedy for about 10 years with a 4 year detour in what he calls the “Cult” of Antifa in Australia. He's since realised that the only way to change the world effectively, is to properly examine your own life and get your shit together.

Shayne is currently touring the country with a new show called “Blaze Against the Machine” which is all about the War on Drugs, addiction, and some paraphrased psychology that he's pulled out of a thousand hours of Jordan Peterson Lectures. He's an incredibly smart, funny and interesting person, and if you want to see more of his stuff, go to Shayne Hunter on Facebook, or see him at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in April, and the Sydney Comedy Festival in May.

    SHOW NOTES:

Achieving Our Country, Richard Rorty – Book about Left Wing Politics

Johann Hari – Addiction Specialist, author of Chasing The Scream.

Ben Darso and Nick Sun – Stand up Comedians

Jordan Peterson, Clinical Psychologist and author of 12 Rules for Life (*Note* although I think the picture is silly, I still think he's one of the best thinkers getting around these days)

  • Closure Optional Ep 2 – Injury Update Ramble

This is just a quick little episode with just me on my own; I recently injured myself at training and have been given a mandatory rest from all fighting and training for the next month or so. In this episode I just ramble a little about what it feels like to be relieved of my responsibility to fight and if it's ok to be happy or not.

  • Closure Optional Ep1 – Justin Chucklefield, Graphic Artist

Justin is a Graphic artist and a Musician from New Zealand; he played in a punk band called Not OK for 10 years, and when that came to an end, he had to seriously reconsider what he wanted to do with his life. Through some self-exploration (not just the dirty kind), determination and hard work, he put himself through school and became a Graphic Designer.

Taking action and making shit, to him, is a matter of life and death – to stop is to drown. This is a conversation about what it takes to not give up on yourself, to push through hard shit, and to find your own meaning through taking action in your life.
