Often times, we exacerbate our suffering by creating more suffering with our attached negative inner dialogue. To truly be of service to others, we have to learn to be of service to ourselves. This begins by accepting ourselves and speaking to ourselves in a way in which we would speak to someone we deeply love or a child. Although our skin suits age, the pains in our heart do not dissipate. We have to care and love for ourselves, because it reflects in our relationships, our careers, and in our thoughts. Self-love is vital to self-growth.
Although its important to set our intentions and to aspire to grow.. it is crucial to accept ourselves and love ourselves in the meantime. When we zoom into the things we want to "fix" about ourselves, we further the idea that we are defected and need to be changed. When in order to truly change, we must accept ourselves in the present moment. Through accepting ourselves, we can inspire ourselves to take action through a place of love and self-compassion. When we uncover the truth of our nature, which is in our being, we discover that our peace lies within us.
This is an interactive New Years edition episode! We're going to really sit down and feel into what 2020 has brought up for us and what intentions and goals we want to manifest in 2021. We will be doing this through reflective journaling prompts that I will be giving as the episode goes on as well as some occasional card pulls. Joining in on the practice alongside my listeners, we will sit with our hearts and our bodies open in this New Year's practice. This episode requires a comfy space/altar where you can be left alone, any items that bring comfort to you, and a pen and paper to really allow yourself to fully partake in the practice. As we send off 2020, I want to set intentions and write down some things that we would like to manifest in 2021. What do we really want our lives to look like? to feel like? It is such an incredible life changing practice to take the time to sit down with yourself and ask yourself what would fulfill you most in your life. This episode will be an incredibly healing and cleansing practice for not only me but for anyone that joins me as well. Lets ring in the New Year staying true to ourselves and the lives we want to live.
In todays episode, I am joined with my amazing partner Griffin Lovelady whom is the most patient, soft spoken, compassionate, and optimistic human being that I know and love. After an entire month of not posting, I share about some of my personal struggles of trying to show up during a tough time. Griffin joins me in a conversation of the pockets of shame that we all experience in this journey of life.
I talk about my experience at a women's full moon gathering retreat and all of my beautiful take-aways as well as my greater understanding of what community truly is. This is a short podcast just speaking from the heart. Thank you for being here.
We are so much more than what we do and what we produce. On the days that we aren't "bringing enough to the table," we are bringing exactly enough. We deserve to feel seen, heard, and loved on the days when we aren't producing. We are enough by nature, without doing. In this episode, I share from the heart about how I feel about tying our worth to what we do and how detrimental that can be.
I introduce myself as well as go into the topic of our passions and how that roots from early childhood and nurturing our sense of play. I firmly believe that through play, we are able to find our life's work. Often times, I believe we take life so seriously that we forget that its ours. We forget that we call the shots in our life and that you never outgrow dreaming big.
