In the fullness of time God kept his promise by sending his Son Jesus Christ to redeem sinners who were cursed with death and enslaved in futile labor under law. 

To answer life’s futility due to sin we must heed the wise words of the gospel by faith in Christ, who alone faces our judgment, defeats our sin & gives us hearts made new to fear God & obey him. 

Life is short and uncertain so seize the day by investing in Christ’s kingdom. 

All who possess in their hearts the perfect wisdom of Jesus Christ that delivers from folly & destruction will display his wisdom in their wise walk patterned after him.

Life under the sun is miserable since death indiscriminately and suddenly takes everyone and ruins everything, therefore, our only joy under the sun is God’s temporal pleasures, all down payments on the eternal pleasures found only in Christ. 

Life seems unjust from our vantage point but at the end of the day it goes well for those who fear God through Jesus Christ. 

In a futile world where prosperity & adversity are beyond your control, it is wise to contemplate your own end & consider God’s work to seek the relief from death that comes through Jesus Christ. 

The certain hope of Christ’s salvation gives believers gladness of heart, which God bolsters in this futile world through ordinary gifts & the ability to enjoy them.
