If we’re to make substantial progress in our faith in 2010, we must get deadly serious about the Spirit’s fruit of self-control.

Joy that outweighs any present heartache or hardship comes to believers who focus by faith on the nearly incomprehensible bliss that will be ours when Jesus returns in triumph.

The eternal Son of God humbled Himself through His miraculous birth and substitutionary death because He regarded us as more important than Himself.

We ought to marvel at the generosity of Jesus in His Incarnation – an immeasurable generosity in light of the eternal glory which he laid aside to restore lost sinners to the glory of his presence.

Because God has saved us by His grace, freeing us from bondage to sin and enabling obedience from the heart, our lives must demonstrate the life transforming power of the gospel through our submission to authority and our godly behavior toward all mankind.

All believers must behave in a godly manner because God’s transforming grace is at work in each true Christian, training him to live godly.

As Christians, we are to adorn the gospel in the way that fits our basic role in life; making us effective role models for fellow believers and appropriate witnesses to unbelievers.

The gospel which conforms to godliness must be guarded against destructive spiritual arson by qualified elders whose gospel fruit qualifies them to confront gospel frauds.

If we’re to resist false teachers and their false gospels, we must never allow a dichotomy between good confession and good behavior.
