In the power of the Spirit of Jesus, through the gospel, and by prayer, the apostles saw the church added to, the Kingdom advance, and the word increase. The same happens in our day in the same way.

As with Paul’s gospel ministry all along, many of his fellow Jews reject Christ and the gospel of His Kingdom, but the Gentiles receive God’s salvation. Will you tell? Will you hear?

In the face of all the resistance Satan can muster, Christ’s Kingdom, through His Spirit-empowered message and messenger, advances to Rome, in fulfillment of Jesus’ Acts 1:8 promise.

Christ’s witnesses must be wise as they endure the trial of worldly opposition, always keeping Christ’s resurrection-based salvation front and center…a message that is madness to many, but eye-opening life to everyone who believes!

Like our Savior and His messenger, Paul, we must be ready to cheerfully give a reason for our hope in Christ to those around us, validated by our good conduct in an unjust world.

Jesus Christ stands beside His witnesses and sovereignly directs even their trials for the sake of His mission; let us then live boldly to testify to His resurrection.

Jesus’ love for His enemies looked like being willing to get the message of salvation to them, Jew and Gentile, even at very great cost to Himself. Paul walked in Jesus’ footsteps in this way. Will we?

Like Paul headed to Jerusalem to serve the Jewish church, all who follow Jesus must be willing to take up their cross and live sacrificially for the glory of Christ and the good of His church.

Christians are called to imitate Christ by following Paul's example of faithful shepherding, which looks like encouraging believers, persevering through suffering, and protecting Christ's flock.

The proclamation of Jesus inevitably results in conflict with idolatry, whether in Ephesus or Vermont. So, we should not be surprised by ugly opposition to the gospel but continue proclaiming and embracing Jesus as Lord of all.
