Heath Bone also stopped by with stories and updates from his world.

Shortt Tuesday! Coach Michael Shortt joined Coach Kris Herron on Coach & Friends. Coach Shortt shared a granddaughter report that included a special anniversary and a few library adventures. The guys also talked about the record-setting “low-high” temperatures on August 4. With the first day of school in Clay County, they kept the energy up by Coleman Cow-Belling the buses back onto the roads to start the year off right.

Coach Jerry Weems joined Coach Kris Herron to kick off a new week on the show. Coach Weems shared highlights from his trip to the Auburn athletics surplus sale and some of the great deals he picked up. Dr. Chip East from the Alabama Extension Service was also in studio on this first Monday of August. He covered a range of timely topics, including soil testing, planting cover crops, cool season vegetables, and the use of row covers and high tunnels.

The Barber, David Nolen, was in today as the crew celebrated their one-year anniversary. Bill “Bubba” Bussey joined in on the fun, helping mark the occasion. Lee Perryman dropped by and shared stories as only he can. To top it all off, they cut and shared some yellow-meated watermelon.

Get Up with Giddens! Coach Steve Giddens joined Coach Kris Herron on Coach & Friends. Coach Herron's sister called in on Hero’s Hotline as she headed to her first day as an assistant principal. David and Lawson Benefield were also in studio to share the 50-year history of Benefield Funeral Home.

Local radio legend Jeff Colburn filled in for Rusty Taylor and shared stories from his garden and updates on his grandkids, from a kindergartener to a college freshman. The guys were joined by Brad Cotney, Beasley Martin, and Gina Wall from Central Alabama Community College who talked about the opportunities available through their commercial driving program at both the Alex City and Childersburg campuses. And Cotney brought smoked bologna to the studio.

Shortt Tuesday! Coach Michael Shortt gave his weekend update. The guys then talked about Cleburne County football putting in a Jumbotron, shared some grandkid stories, and tried to figure out why Coach Shortt's feet won’t stop growing.

The guys recapped their weekends, but not before Coach Herron shared his latest battle with the AC just in time for another blazing hot July stretch. Coach Weems took a trip down memory lane, recalling his teenage years cruising the streets of Anniston. And of course, Monday morning would not be complete without the Heath Bone report.

It was Friday, and that means The Barber, David Nolen, was along for the ride. The conversation ranged from the best French fries they’ve ever had to class reunions and debating the so-called “good ole’ days.” They even took a crack at the question: when did AI really begin?

The guys debated the question: who actually defines serving sizes? They also reflected on the cultural impact of Ozzy Osbourne’s passing and what it means for a certain generation.
