Since it was the first Monday of the month, Dr. Chip East from the Alabama Extension Service stopped by the studio. He talked about the challenges of starting a farm and the common issues people face when growing summertime favorites like tomatoes.

Get Up with Giddens! Coach Steve Giddens woke up with Coach Kris Herron on Coach & Friends. Coach Herron shared his Christmas wish for a telescopic flag pole. The duo reflected on the passing of a childhood staple, Bro. Jimmy Swaggart. They talked about the Memphis trip and upcoming Fourth of July plans. Coach Danny Horn also stopped by for a visit.

Shortt Tuesday! Coach Michael Shortt joined Coach Kris Herron on Coach & Friends. Coach Shortt recapped his road trip to Chilton County for peaches and ice cream and he didn’t come empty handed as he brought in some Blackberry Cider.

Coach Kris Herron had Coach Jerry Weems along for the Monday morning ride. They talked about the flags and bunting going up around the square and posed an interesting question: is there a special name for America’s upcoming 250th birthday, like “bicentennial” was for the 200th? Coach Weems shared his weekend report, summer thermostat settings sparked a debate, and Heath Bone checked in to round out the show.

The Barber, David Nolen, steered Coach & Friends toward the weekend. Girl Friday, Tab, made a guest appearance as the crew debated the best cheese for grilled cheese, shared their favorite hot sandwiches, karaoke go-to songs, and top cereals. It was a full house with all kinds of visitors as Mr. Raughton stopped by, Mr. Ed brought biscuits with Conecuh sausage, and Dave’s grand boys even made a live appearance on the show.
