Mark 4This week we hear Jesus teaching about the Kingdom of God in parables. These short stories illustrate powerful Kingdom truths that are intended to stir our hearts and produce action in our lives. As you listen, consider yourself invited to learn, to obey, and to grow...

Mark 2-3In this portion of Mark's gospel we find Jesus in conflict. In conflict with the religious leaders, in conflict with his family, in conflict perhaps even with our own perceptions of faith and what it means to live as one of his followers.

Mark 1The first in our fall sermon series from the Gospel of Mark. We celebrate and give thanks to God that these stories of Jesus were written down and passed on through generations. We pray that we would be transformed by our encounter with Jesus through this study and that, like his early disciples, we would be quick to respond to his invitation to "follow me."

Matthew 5:43-48In the final sermon of this "election year" series we consider the Christian's responsibility not only to pray for and submit to our governing authorities, but also to demonstrate the love of Christ to them. We also discover that these actions we have spoken of in this series are not only to be directed toward the president, but toward every human person.

Romans 13:1-8In the second of this series examining the promises that we as followers of Jesus can make to our president and to other governing authorities, we consider the biblical call to submission. What will this kind of submission look like for the believer? What will be its limitations? What purpose will it serve?

1 Timothy 2:1-4As we approach the political party national conventions and ultimately the next presidential election this series will help us to consider some of the biblical promises that all Christians are called to make (and keep) to our next president and to all those in government positions. In this first message we consider the command given by the Apostle Paul be intercessors, lifting our president up in prayer to the Father.

Hebrews 12: 1-3As we continue our look at what it takes to be a Champion for Christ we consider the Hebrew writer's specific instructions for running the race of the Christian life. As Eugene Peterson puts it in The Message, "Strip down, start running, and don't quit!" What might your journey with Jesus be like if you were to get rid of the stuff that is slowing you down, the sin that is tripping you up, and were to determine to start running and never quit? That is the journey of a Champion!

Hebrews 12:1-3In these weeks leading up the the Olympics we are naturally thinking about all the hard work and devotion that is required of an Olympic champion. With this in mind, the question we want to ask is simply, "what does it take to be a champion for Christ?" "What does it take to experience victory in Jesus?" As we look at Hebrews 12 we will find some very helpful guidance, including this week's encouragement to follow the example of those who have gone before us in faith. A life of victory, the champion's life is possible!
