Matthew 6:19-21After 6 1/2 years of ministry at Coast Community, we say farewell to our associate pastor and family, Jake, Laura and Josiah Duckworth. The Duckworths will soon begin their ministry in the lead pastor role of the Church of the Nazarene in Palo Alto, CA. In this service we get to hear tributes from several of those who have been impacted by Pastor Jake's ministry. We are also treated to one more special song and a final sermon from Pastor Jake. Matthew 3:13-17, Deuteronomy 6:4-9On this Father's Day we take time to discuss the "man problem" in the Church. More than ever, statistics show that men of all ages are disconnecting from the Church. Aside from muscle cars and barbecues, one way of reconnecting men is to give them a compelling and purposeful vision of what life with God can be. Here are four questions every man must ask of himself that we hope will give just such a vision.

Acts 11:19-30While it is tempting during the summer months or during seasons of transition to pull back and go into "retreat" mode, the call of God on the Church is to always be "advancing", always moving forward. The book of Acts is filled with stories of God's people staring down their difficult circumstances and continuing to gain ground for the kingdom of God. As you listen to one of these stories again, ask God what role He may have for you to fill in the story He is writing about His church today.

Luke 12:13-21In the last of our sermons on the 7 Deadly Sins we consider the sin perhaps most intricately woven into the very fabric of our American lives, greed. Where does it start? What are its consequences? What does Jesus have to say about it? What will it look like for followers of Christ to find freedom from living with a clenched fist and begin to know the joy of living (like Jesus did) with an open hand?

Ephesians 4:26-31"Anger is just one letter short of danger." Wherever there is anger you can be sure that danger is lurking nearby. Why are we such angry people? Why do we stay angry so long? What does the Bible have to say about anger? What might life be like if we were really free from this deadly sin? Receive grace, find freedom from anger today!

Matthew 5:27-30Continuing in our series on the 7 Deadly Sins today we consider the sweeping issue of lust and sexual sin, listening to what God's Word has to say on the subject and suggesting practical next steps for folks struggling in this area.

Luke 18:18-23Continuing in our series on the 7 Deadly Sins on this Mother's Day, we look at the particular sin that might least be associated with moms - sloth. Sloth is actually something that gets a hold on most of us at one point or another in life. "The Midday Demon", it was called by the early monks, distracting, debilitating, destroying spiritual growth. For those stuck in sloth today, the invitation is to take a step toward the God who has already stepped toward you.

In this message on ministry and service, we are reminded that we are participants with God in the mission He is accomplishing in the world. Including interviews with Darren Wilson and Chelsea Mitchell, we hear about the impact people are making in the church and the world, and the impact that service is having on their lives as well!
