James teaches that true wisdom is not proven by knowledge, gifting, or success, but by a Christlike life of humility, purity, peace, mercy, and surrender to God.

As Christians, we cannot praise God, the creator, and then curse his creation, which reflects him, because all humans are made in God’s image, and therefore in some way reflect who God is, and have intrinsic value and worth. 

James 3:9-12

Do our words really matter? James has just made the point that it is our actions that matter in demonstrating our faith. Are our words important in demonstrating our faith? Come join us as we learn why learning to control our words is not just kindness, it controls the very direction of how we live.  

Real faith isn’t proven by what we say or feel, but by the way it moves us to act, revealing whether we are truly trusting God or simply telling ourselves we are.

The early church changed the world by valuing the overlooked, and James warns us not to lose that defining identity.

Temptation takes hold when we believe false things about God, but when we see Him rightly as a good Father who gives, we can resist the lure and bring our deepest desires to Him instead.

Like it or not, difficulty, hardships and trials are unavoidable in this life. We can try and run from them, or work hard to minimize their impact. Yet, what if they are essential? What if they are a gracious gift from God who is seeking to fill our current moral and spiritual gaps? Come learn from the immensely practical yet intensely challenging words of James on the power and purpose of trials.
