Thai Tiki Sour
Last summer, Nicki showcased this bold, flavor-packed creation at one of Jefferson Beer Supply’s cocktail nights. It’s a vibrant, Southeast Asian-inspired beer cocktail that balances sweetness, heat, citrus and a touch of umami. It’s topped with a crisp, tart sour beer (or a pepper-infused brew if you’re feeling adventurous). The Taki-dusted rim adds a crunchy, spicy edge as well. 

Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz. lemongrass-ginger simple syrup
1 oz. fresh pineapple juice
1 dash toasted sesame oil
1 small Thai chili (muddled, optional for heat)
Sour beer (preferably a citrus based fruit sour). Alternatively, a hot pepper beer, like a Jalapeno Blonde, works.
Taki dust + lime wedge (for the rim)
Garnish: sprig of cilantro or ginger

Directions:
Rim the glass: Rub the rim of a chilled pint or cocktail glass with lime, then dip it in crushed Taki seasoning for a bold, crunchy edge.
Build the base: In a shaker, combine the syrup, pineapple juice, sesame oil and the muddled chili (if using). Shake gently with ice.
Strain: Pour over fresh ice in your prepped glass.
Top: Slowly top with your favorite tart, citrusy sour beer. Give it a quick stir.
Garnish: Add a sprig of cilantro or a thin slice of ginger. Serve with a side-eye and a straw.

Cocktail: Lemon Drop

Ingredients
• 2 ounces vodka
• 1/2 ounce triple sec
• 1 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed
• 1 ounce simple syrup
• Garnish: sugar rim

Directions
1. Coat the rim of a cocktail glass with sugar and set aside (do this a few minutes ahead so the sugar can dry and adhere well to the glass).
2. Add the vodka, triple sec, lemon juice and simple syrup to a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.
3. Strain into the prepared glass.

Connected TV (CTV) advertising has exploded in popularity, but many people believe you need a massive, five-figure budget to get started. In this episode of Cocktails, Tangents & Answers, we’re breaking down what’s fact, what’s fiction and what options actually exist for businesses that don’t have $10K to drop on a single ad campaign.

Ingredients:

• 2/3 oz Absolut Elyx vodka
• 1/4 oz Dry Sack 15-year-old oloroso sherry
• 1 oz pho broth*
• 1/4 oz lime juice
• 2 drops mineral saline (1 part kosher salt to 9 parts mineral water, such as Crazy -Water #4 from Texas)
• Garnish: cilantro leaf

Directions:

1. Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake until chilled.
2. Strain into a shot glass.
3. Garnish with a cilantro leaf.

The Pho-King Champ is a modern, Vietnamese-inspired twist on the Bull Shot, replacing the beef bouillon with rich, aromatic pho broth. Created by Chad Solomon of Midnight Rambler in Dallas, it’s a bold little shot that blends vodka, dry sherry, house-made pho broth, and spices into an intensely savory, umami-packed experience.

Now, many bartenders around the U.S. are making the light, refreshing cocktail in their bars, helping to spread its charms to drinkers more accustomed to Vodka Tonics and G&Ts.

Ingredients:

• 1.5 ounces gin (such as Roku)
• 2.25 ounces club soda
• 2.25 ounces tonic water
• Garnish: yuzu twist

Directions:

1. Fill a highball glass with ice, then add the gin, club soda and tonic.
2. Garnish with a yuzu twist.

It's definitely a unique one, and we’ll let you decide whether it lives up to the hype or the criticism.

Ingredients:

• 2 oz. white rum
• 1/2 oz. Maraschino liqueur
• 3/4 oz. lime juice, freshly squeezed
• 1/2 oz. grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed
• Garnish: lime wheel

Directions:

• Add the rum, maraschino liqueur, lime juice and grapefruit juice into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.
• Strain into a coupe glass.
• Garnish with a lime wheel.

• "Heavy" 1/2 oz. Orgeat
• 3/4 oz. Demerara (simple) syrup
• 2 oz. Tequila
• Garnish: Mint 

Directions:

• Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake. 
• Strain over fresh ice into a rocks glass.
• Garnish with mint.
