Cody and Joe

Our raft trip with the foster kids was fantastic....except that maybe one of us spent too much money afterwards and landed in the doghouse at home.  It'a Amazon Prime Day and Cody has some tips on how to make sure you're alerted on the best deals that fit your needs/wants.  Have you ever talked back to an electronic voice?  Maybe in the store and somebody overheard you?  Yeah, that happened to Pat yesterday.  And in "The Good Stuff," you'll meet an amazing couple that adopted 6 children.  All 6 had one thing in common that makes this story even more amazing.

An update on the Thai soccer boys.  How are they doing 2 days after their incrdible rescue?  Ever have a bad encounter with a celebrity?  We have one with William Shatner.  While it was mean it made us laugh.  There's been a Jon Pardi sighting near Sacramento!  And there's a chance you might run into him this weekend.   Local boy made good:  Jesuit High School star and Sac State product Rhys Hoskins who plays for the Philadelphia Phillies got some exciting news.  And in The Good Stuff, Pat, Tom and Cody are taking 35 foster youth rafting this weekend.

Cody's ex is sending her shirtless pics of himself and she's not having it.  That led to her asking why are most guys in Sacramento lame?  She says they aren't confident enough and really don't know how to approach women.  That brought in a slew of comments.  And now Pat and Tom want to be dating coaches.  Jason Aldean is part of a new series called, "Breaking Big," and will Eric Church have new music tomorrow?   And in "The Good Stuff,"  7 Firefighters go above and beyond.  Hear what these guys did to help a man whose life they saved (as if saving his life wasn't enough)

The morning started with great news about the boys soccer team in Thailand.  We also had disturbing news out of Orangevale.  Their Pony Baseball league had a backstop stolen.  Yes, a backstop.  We are working on a solution to fix that and will have an update Wed morning at 7:40.   Today is FREE entree day at Chick Fil A but there is a catch. Cody explains what that is....or at least she tries.

Tom's back from vacation in Lake Tahoe where he had a "big" moment with Kenny Chesney!  Awkward moments with celebs led to a great story from Maggie of Cameron Park involving Mike Tyson.  Somebody on Pat's NextDoor App has quite possibling the worst description of 3 guys who were setting off illegal fireworks.  And in The Good Stuff, a farming community surprises a 22 year old who is trying to save the family farm.

Love fails at 75mph, especially on Highway 50.  Pat saw a guy on a motorcyle trying to get the attention and hopefully more from a woman driving a car.  Her response was classic!  What's the most bizarre thing somebody has done to try to get your attention?  Carly Pearce tweets back at Pat, Tom and Cody about her stolen wallet.  Do you know what the face of the Statue Of Liberty looks like?  Could you tell it from a fake?  If the answer's Yes, the US Postal Department could have used you!   And Brad Paisley does something extra cool with two police officers.

Why does Pat's car smell like fireworks?  Updated details on the death of Eric Church's brother, Brandon, and how you can help the family remember him.  Jason Aldean's 3 Generations Of Aldeans July 4th photo sparks a number of people around Sacramento to do the same.  Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs eating contest:what food would they have to change it to, to get you to even consider entering?  Cody's answer is a popular one.  Pat's answer is...random.  And in What's Trending a million dollar home is Elk Grove catches fire and is gutted from Legal fireworks.  How does that happen?  Listen for the chain reaction of events

Remember former Sacramento King DeMarcus Cousins?  He just signed a 1 year deal with the Golden State Warriors.  A lot of Kings fans were upset with this, while one fan in particular had the best take on DeMarcus' new contract and his new home city.  Sad news out of Eric Church's camp about the passing of his brother.  We cover that along with what you can do to support Eric and his parents.  The Brothers Osborne just won best sons of the year.  Listen to what they did for their mom!  And a man in Tahoe came downstairs to find a big black bear in his living room.  What happened next is a combination of The Karate Kid and Billy Madison!

Tom's on vacation this week up in Lake Tahoe...lucky!  That led to our Big Question.  We thought we had given enough hints but apparently we still have work to do.  A good samaritan (or was it Santa Claus) stepped in a bought every single toy at a Toys R Us location in North Carolina before they closed their doors for good.  It cost him a million dollars and the toys could not be going to a better cause.   In this morning's "Good Stuff,"  a day of an autistic daugher steps up to show what love is and how much he understands his daugher.  And Cody actually ate goat!  We asked what the strangest thing was you ever ate (accidentally or on purpose), and turns out goat is a very tame answer.

Sadly today was the last day for Toys R Us.  What other places, restaurants, things from your life do you really miss because they're gone?  So many of you checked in, thank you!!  But there was one key place we left out...until we got a phone call.  Was it Pat or Tom who took some of Cody's food and turned into the "Don't Be That Guy!"?    Tyler Rich has a new song out and we got to play a snippet.  And in the Good Stuff a man in Georgia says, "I Ain't No Hero.  I'm just doing what I was put on earth to do."  A woman named Belinda Whitaker and most of her church would disagree.
