This week we talk with Cody Rich from the Rich Outdoors Podcast about western hunts for the first timer. We talk with Cody about our 2018 Idaho elk hunt and have him critique our strategy while adding in tidbits for the new elk hunter planning his first trip into the mountains, next we discuss our plans for an upcoming antelope hunt while Cody breaks down the do’s and don’ts for antelope.  We talk tactics and strategy for locating game, backup plans and misconceptions for the first time western hunter.  At the end Cody talks about his other project The Backcountry Fuel subscription box that allows hunters to test backpacking foods before buying a whole trips worth.  Cody outlines plans for a new arm of the business to provide customers the ability to order products for a specific trip and while the items are in the cart give the customer a caloric and macro breakdown. great stuff if you are in the planning phases of a ten day hunt.  You can check out al Cody has to offer at
