In Canada there had been a protest, an occupation of the capital that has been hilariously devastating. It was a protest that was meant to fight back against government over reach. It was ridiculous and yet highly influential. That protest was called the Trucker’s Freedom Convoy. It had literally shutdown the entire maple syrup fueled political machine that is Ottawa. The consequence of that protest are others have taken inspiration and created their own. One nation that has followed suit is America. The only problem is this conspiracy fueled protest has been sabotaged by a conspiracy theory making this more of a con oy vey than an actual convoy. Free speech has always been a contentious issue for Americans as a whole. “Can he say that?” “Did she just say that and with a hard ‘r’ at the end?” “Isn’t that inciting violence?” “I don’t want to hear that he put that there.” All those things have caused battles that have raged in the court of public opinion. And now that controversy has come to Spotify. That donnybrook was the result of Joe Rogan’s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. Joe Rogan is accused of spreading misinformation and racism on his podcast. This issue has raised the question of what freedom of speech is, and the extent of that freedom. It also begs the question of whether there should be consequences for certain kinds of speech. My guest Flavius Maximus, an artist and activist, and I dive into that issue. Do you know what hurts worse than an ice cream headache? Hypocrisy. Hypocrisy in action is watching Foxnews. It’s a place where two scoops of ice cream and a waffle cone can break a presidency. Just ask Biden. While Trump has been spraying his treasonous pheromones everywhere, conservatives have been crying about a stop at an ice cream show. In this episode, I rant about this “redonkulous” situation. A situation that makes your head hurt more than an ice cream headache.

Even though January 6th happened more than a year ago, it is still fresh in our minds, sadly, whether we want it to be or not. As Americans grapple with how we still should react, there is something more important that we have to examine; who was in the crowd? That is important because those people there that day were our neighbors, our co-workers, family members who had joined in storming the Capital over a lie. They are the ones we sing hymns with at church. They are the ones who drink their coffee with cream and two sugars. Those people are who were “regular everyday” Americans behaved like radicals.
