Dr. Bessel van der Kolk says trauma comes back as a reaction, not a memory. One common form of reaction is belief in a foreshortened future: loss of hope, limited expectations, or fear that normal life events will not occur. In other words, trauma, when unaddressed, can dramatically impact how capable we feel of accessing our possibilities. Let's talk about some simple things we can do to support ourselves and our possibility mindsets while we go about the business of addressing our injuries.
