  • about God’s will and control s4e37

    This one is basically a extension of something I taught in a Wednesday nigh Bible class. In this episode I flesh out and give more explanation about what I meant when I said, "God is not in control."

  • about our righteousness or Christ’s righteousness s4e36

    I really didn't know how to title this one. In this episode I discuss a meme that contains a quote from John Calvin. Sadly, many of my brethren buy this stuff hook line and sinker. More dangerous than that is the amount of brethren who adhere to a "Calvinism Lite" kind of doctrine. I hope I say something in here that helps you in your journey.

  • about bearing the reproach of Christ s4e35

    What does it mean to bear the reproach of Christ? This is something that is mentioned in the book of Hebrews. (13:13) Take a listen as I delve into this idea and hopefully you will be as encouraged and edified as I was when I first studied this.

  • about the horns of a dilemma s4e34

    I almost labeled this as a part 2 as it touches on yesterday's episode. Basically, Reformed Theology says that one can tell man is totally depraved because all man can produce are people (children) who are totally depraved. Take a listen and let me know what you think.

  • about ReformedThelolgy’s dirty secret s4e33
    Why do people follow religious and systems of theology that affirm little babies are evil and deserving of death?  I did not compile the following quotes, they are powerful nonetheless.

    Here is a dose of Reformed Theology:
    "Every baby starts life as a little savage. He is selfish and self centered. He wants what he wants when he wants it. His bottle, his mother's attention, his playmate's toy, his uncle's watch. Deny him these and he seethes with rage and aggressiveness. Which would be murderous were he not so helpless. He is dirty. He has no morals, no knowledge, no skills. That means all children, not just certain children, all children are born delinquent."
    >>Chuck Swindoll

    "Calvin was once, you know, talking about babies and he said that babies were depraved as rats. I said, 'that's the one time I really, really opposed the teaching of John Calvin.' I said, 'that's terribly insulting to the rat.'"
    >>R.C. Sproul

    "I submit to you that if that 18-month-old baby had the strength of an 18-year-old man, he would slaughter you there where you stand, father, rip the watch off your arm and walk across your bloody body out the door without feeling an ounce of remorse. The Scriptures' testimony against you and all men is that we are born with evil and we are evil. The first thing you must embrace is this: all men are born in sin and given over to sin and all men are born hating God."
    >>Paul Washer

    "I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's not a little angel. That's a viper in a diaper. 'It's so cute!' No, that ain't cute. One of the reasons God makes them so small is so that they won't kill you. One of the reasons he makes them so cute is so that you won't kill them."
    >>Voddie Bauchman

    "Nowhere or at no point is a man's depravity more manifest than in the procreative act. You say, 'why do you say that?' Well, we know man is a sinner by what he says. We know man is a sinner by what he does. We know man is a sinner by the attitude, the bearing that he carries. We can see on the outside sinful deeds. But how do we know man is a sinner at the base of his character? How do we know man is a sinner at the root of his existence? The answer: by what he creates. Whatever comes from the loins of man is wicked. Because man is wicked. So I say to you, nowhere, then, in the anatomy of a man or in the activity of a man is depravity more manifest than in the procreative act, because it is at precisely that point which he demonstrates the depth of his sinfulness because he produces a sinner."
    >>John MacArthur

    "I think the greatest sin in the world is bringing children into the world..."
    >>Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood
    ~~~~~~~~~
    There is nothing as evil in the world as those who murder unborn babies in the womb...except those who believe they deserve it.
  • about the fatal flaw of Reformed Theology/Calvinism s4e31
    There is a fatal flaw in Reformed Theology. So many times when we talk to folk who hold to this doctrine we get lost in the weeds of trying to explain away every false tenant of the doctrine. Stick to this one fatal flaw and don't let go until they can deal with it. Also, if you prescribe to the doctrine of Calvinism or Reformed Theology please repent and turn to Jesus before it is too late.
  • about being ”that guy” dealing with a brother in bad faith
    Facebook can be a cesspool of terrible interactions and, sometimes be, good for nothing but bringing the worst in people. In this episode I shine some light on an interaction that I had with another bother who dealt with something I said in jest in bad faith. The admonition....don't be that guy. Take a listen. I pray you are encouraged and edified.
  • about breathing the name of God s4e29
    Do we speak the name of God when we breath? There is a meme and post going around of Facebook about this topic. The sad thing is that many in our brotherhood swallowed this hook, line, and sinker. In this episode I read a really good article concerning this matter. I hope you enjoy the episode.
  • about the thief on the cross s4e28
    The topic for this past Tuesday's Connect DBS gospel meeting sermon was about the question of being saved like the thief on the cross. Allan Webster did an excellent job. I guess I have been thinking about the topic since then so here are my cogitations on it.
