Although I have covered this topic several times before I decided to do it again. It is never wasted time to remind brethren to be optimistic about their salvation. All too often brethren are pessimistic about being saved and will not even affirm their own salvation. take a listen and let me know what you think.
One of the more egregious things a teacher of the Bible can do is speak on behalf of God when God has not revealed anything. This idea that God will preserve someone's life until they can be baptized is heretical and presumptive. God has revealed that we are not guaranteed our next minute. That is why obedience to His Word immediately is of the utmost importance. Further, if one does die before one obeys, God cannot, according to His Word, arbitrarily save him based on the condition of the heart at the time of death. To teach this undermines not only the necessity of baptism but the gospel as a whole. Take a listen to this episode of Cogitations that deals with just such an argument.
Could the idea of the Christian religion be so bad that someone might conscience choose hell over heaven? I had never considered this question. Today I watch a video that made me consider it. Take a listen and let me know what you think.
God is the God of order. On just about every page of the Bible you can see this. Today we look at 3 passages of Scripture and demonstrate that, even when we might not notice, there is an order of operations.
Do we focus more on getting the world told or telling the world that Jesus loves them? I know I have fallen into this trap before. As I wax nostalgic about the first ever meme I put out into the Facebook ether I contemplate this conundrum.
Watching a documentary about death row inmates I heard a man explain how important hope was in being able to bear life in prison. It struck me that this would be a good illustration for Christians about how we find joy in this life while looking toward the next.

Does God recognize common law marriages? That is a good question and one that might give pause if we have not thought about it fully. Take a listen and let us know what you think.
Many feel discouraged and hopeless. Jeremiah shows us an example of a man convicted to stand firm on God's Word yet has these feelings as well. Today we look at this prophet and talk about how this can be applied to our lives.
Let's take some comfort from the psalmist during these trying times. Psalm 73 is a wonderful psalm for folk feeling despair at the perceived success of the wicked.
I read a very good article from Josh Ketchum's blog this morning. It is my thoughts from that article that inspired this episode of Cogitations. Please take a listen and let me what you think.
