Yes, I suppose I had to get in on all the discussion. Join me as we take a look at the word, amen, and share some thoughts about its usage and other things.
This first episode of 2021 is inspired by some content I consumed on Facebook. Do we idolize modern masculinity as it is defined by Western culture? We just might. Take a listen to this episode of Cogitations and see if we can define godly masculinity.
In these last two episodes I have kind of rambled. I suppose I have allot to cogitate here at the end of 2020. Take a listen to my ramblings about the need to retain our youth and let me know what you think. What are some ways we can help the church and pave the ways for future generations?
God said He would dwell in the thick darkness. This is an interesting concept found in Scripture. I can not help but think about the thick darkness in relation to this past year, 2020. Take a listen and see if you can make sense of my rambling cogitations. My desire is that you will be empowered, comforted, and convicted. Let me know what you think.
Is there anything in the Bible that could be applied to the phenomenon of studying denominational scholars? I think there is. I have witnessed many of my contemporaries go off into error because of their studying at the feet of these false teachers. Take a listen to this episode and let me know what you think.
A question was asked, what are some threats to the Lord's church? My answer is almost always the same, a misunderstanding of scruple. From this post and subsequent comments a member of the WE TALK TRUTH Facebook group asked about scruples. I have put out hours and hours of content touching this topic. I figured I'd release this podcast today to give an overview of the subject.
This is an extension from episode 83 of Cogitations. I think I have it off my chest now. Hopefully I have given you some things to think on, to work on, and to contemplate for the future.
So many times I hear Christians talk about the fact that we are commanded to judge and how Matthew 7:1 is taken out of context and used wrongly. Sadly, what I rarely hear considered is the idea that from that text is taught that the judgment we judge is by which we will be judged. That concept should scare us to the point of being very careful with the idea of judging. Take a listen to this episode and let me know what you think.
This episode has me joined by my wife, LaBeth. We talk about this upward swing of women taking roles in the church that God forbids. Take a listen to it as we may discuss this from a perspective that isn't commonly thought of. Also, you can follow LaBeth and what she does at www.fromappleblosomtomapleleaf.com and in the Facebook group, The Added Sisters, for content geared toward women and Bible study.
James soundly gives us a warning about having the faith of Jesus with respect of persons. Jesus exemplified this principle with His interaction with a Samaritan woman at a well on His journey to Galilee. Take a listen to this podcast and let me know if you agree that the respecting of persons is a pervasive problem in the Lord's church.
