This week Elizabeth and Jake are joined by both of their dads, Joe Muratore and John Giblin. In this episode they all discuss the origins of their Mets fandom while also remembering some of the great games that they've been to. Joe and John are the main reason behind both Elizabeth and Jake's love for the game of baseball so it's very fitting that they both join the show on Father's Day.
Elizabeth and Jake are joined by baseball writer/podcaster Tim Ryder. They discuss the current state of the team as well as Tim's creation of The Apple and his podcast Simply Amazin. They also share their thoughts on Matt Harvey and whether or not he still has enough left in the tank to be an MLB pitcher. All that and more on Episode 15!!
Jake and Elizabeth sung the praises of some of the Mets' recent heroes, including James McCann, Jonathan Villar, Marcus Stroman, and (gasp!) Robert Gsellman! They also took a few fan questions from Twitter, talked about Stroman's fielding and deGrom's hitting, quizzed each other with some trivia, and dove into just why the team's vibes have been so on point the entire season.
Elizabeth and Jake talk about the insane amount of Mets injuries while also mixing in some trivia questions, and do a deep dive into the cause of so many no-hitters across baseball this season.
This week, Jake and Elizabeth chatted with Colin Cosell, who has been a public address announcer for the Mets at Citi Field since 2018. Colin discussed his career arc so far, how he prepares to work a Mets game, all the ins and outs of being a PA announcer, and what it was like to work David Wright's last-ever game in 2018.
This week, Elizabeth and Jake welcomed Tyler Ward to the show! Tyler is the creator behind the WardyNYM YouTube channel, which brings you a full spectrum of Mets in-game live streams, postgame reactions, and more. We had a lot of fun chatting about how we all first became Mets fans, why we don't support booing our own players, and why we are still hopeful about this Mets offense. We also, as we seemingly do every week, spent some time talking about what truly makes Jacob deGrom so great.
Elizabeth and Jake are joined by Subway to Shea podcast host Anthony Rivera! From favorite Shea Stadium memories to the greatness of Gary, Keith and Ron, no stone is left unturned. Also, Mets fans are witnessing history, but do they appreciate it as much as they should? All that and more!
On this week's episode, Jake and Elizabeth discussed all of happenings in the first week of the Mets' season, from Lindor signing a huge extension, to questionable manager decisions on Opening Day, to why we're not losing sleep over Conforto's walk-off hit-by-pitch. Elizabeth also waxes poetically about the Matt Harvey era and offers thoughts on why Mets fans are still so attached to him. Finally, we brainstorm a potential new segment right at the end of the episode!
This week, Elizabeth and Jake give their thoughts on the latest Mets injury/possible extension news and then are joined by special guest Cady Lowery, who shares her experiences from her internship at the Baseball Hall of Fame while also touching on many other interesting baseball topics!
This week, we welcomed WFAN midday host Maggie Gray to the show! The three of us dove into a wide variety of topics, including Maggie recounting her live on-air reaction to the Lindor trade, breaking down the daily preparation that she puts into her show, and discussing her various co-hosts through the years. We also touched on a few other New York teams that Maggie covers, such as the New York Knicks, the Brooklyn Nets, and (yes, they count as a New York team) the Buffalo Bills.
