Collected Possibilities

This story is definitely not safe for work.

We're building up the lore here at Collected Possibilities, as today we both continue this week's unofficial theme of "Adult Entertainment" and present a thematic sequel to our classic slice: "Cries From The Kitchen." Regular guest David Pratt returns to tell the tale of a dirty movie that made quite an impression on a young man, and his ten year quest to find it again. Come sale the ocean that is the internet in search of past joy, and come face to face with the disappointment that is our present. This is the truth of the aging Millenial - much like our music, our indecent entertainment is getting old too.

Today we're serving: Scratching the Itch

This is the story of the 11:55pm rush at Tower Records. Whatever could those folks be buying?

We start the week with a look a look back at my time working in the fitness center at the Jewish Community Center in Rockville, MD. There were two members that made a lasting impression on me, and one is the subject of today's story - when two worlds met that were never meant to.

Enjoy a meditation on the social contracts we establish with the service strangers in our lives, our feelings of embarassment and shame, and the exciting world of adult entertainment. Take a trip back in time to when CDs were common, Blu Rays were novel, and Playboy was still a magazine. We're clocking in for a shift at Tower Records.

This is a story about seizing the moment.

There are some people in your life who you never get to know in depth, but what you do learn about them leaves a lasting impression. Particularly if part of your job was to call an ambulance for them multiple times a month. We're ending the week in the fitness center of the Rockville Maryland Jewish Community Center, with a look back at a man whose drive and determination quite literally pushed himself to the limit.

This is a story of breasts and Bennigan's.

Dearly beloved, we gather here today to mourn the loss of one of America's original casual dining concepts, an ode to Irish pubs with nary a drop of authenticity in sight, the late great Bennigan's. In its honor, we travel back to a fateful night where a bonny lass did bare herself in a most unexpected setting, and for a most unsuspecting audience.

Welcome to the first edition of "The Hunt" by Collected Possibilities. One of my great passions is collecting discount Graphic Novels; traveling and searching stores all over the country to find the best deals, rare finds, and new places to collect at. The Hunt is a new feature, a hobby travelog reporting back on my collecting adventures. I'll tell you what I found, where I found them, what I chose to buy (and not to buy), and any stories from the road.

Today we're in Annapolis, MD at Third Eye Comics and Games, specifically hunting for Omnibi & Marvel Epic Collections at the Third Eye Throwdown 2025

Happy Hunting!

This is the story of Deranged Pork Disease; how six little pigs were driven to madness.

We end the week back at "The Ranch" for a tragic tale of whole hog neglect. David Pratt returns to bear witness to the sad story of swine in rehab. In a place where everyone was forced to suffer, it was these poor pigs who still somehow suffered most.

There are no vegetarian options here, I'm afraid, as today we're serving: Did You Know Pigs Can Go Insane?

This is a story of cheese, meat, and defeat.

The year is 2011 and two gluttonous gourmands are attempting to scale gastronomical heights. Can our heroes complete their quest to get their photo on three different restaurant walls? Or will they turn back vanquished, their eyes bigger than their stomachs, their pride greater than their hearts?

This is no mis-steak. Today we're serving: The Cheesesteak Challenge

Have yours with whiz, American, or provolone and enjoy a slice of life to start your day.

This is not a story about pancakes, but it is a story of romance gone awry.

Let's take a trip back 15 years for a variation of that classic tale - girl meets boy, girl kisses boy, girl regrets kissing boy - but with a technological twist.

Our Monday slice is: Of Dudes and Pancakes

This is the story of a board game gone horribly wrong. Twice.

We're rolling into the weekend with two tales of why Risk isn't just the game of world domination, but also friendship devastation and social annihilation. There may be no crying in baseball, but there are plenty of tears at the table.

Your Friday slice is: Why I Don't Play Risk

(And for the trivia buffs, this episode is the first appearance of The Ranch. It's going to be important.)

This is the story of how a film lost 2 PAs in three days, and why they deserved to go.

We're joined by Federated Wrestling Alliance founder, owner, and promoter Jared Noe; a man who's spent his entire life being a jack of all things video and event production. That includes time spent on a movie set that featured lesbian ghosts, a family of local drug dealers, and a scary man having a midlife crisis.

Our Wednesday slice is: I Can See You Staring at Me in My Sleep
