Side quests sometimes overshadow even the main game. Nate brings us together to talk about some of our favorites, some that we just don't like, and what really makes a good side story worthy of investing in.

Our first Working Designs title on the podcast, we played Vanguard Bandits to if the game was just as stellar as that packaging. A tactical RPG on the Playstation 1 similar to other games such as Final Fantasy Tactics and Front Mission, we take a look at story, gameplay, graphics, sound, and collectibility and discuss if the price is really worth it. Boasting over 50 different missions across 3 playthroughs, this game as a lot to offer. But was it enough to keep on our shelf?

We tackle the 2D to 3D transitions in video games, which ones did it well, and which ones just flopped? Maybe there were some titles that should have stayed in the 2D realm, while others really benefited from the jump. We talk about individual games that were great, and also entire genres that fit the bill seamlessly. And also those that failed.
Hit us up on Discord and share your thoughts. Which games were your favorite 2D to 3D moves?

One of Nate's heavy hitters Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness for the N64. Highly debated, removed from Castlevania canon, is it a game that's really worth the steep price? Should you really invest in this game or just keep it at arm's length?

Everybody has their opinion about remakes and remasters in video games. We take the time to talk about the currently market of nostalgia, is it ruined by the constant push for remakes? Or is this good for the game industry? And how does it affect collecting older titles if they just remade or rereleased?
Hit us up on Discord and share your thoughts. What do you think of remakes?

Our first episode of 2024, Bryan brings it in guns blazing with Gunstar Super Heroes on GameBoy Advance. Is this sequel/remake/but-not-a-sequel/sort-of-also-not-a-remake worth the price? We played it and bring our thoughts on gameplay, story, sound, graphics, and collectibility for our ultimate answer to the collecting question.

It's been an absolutely crazy year. Not only with the multitude of incredible releases this year, but with the show as well. Thanks for giving these three nerds a full year worth of episodes. Berry, Nate, and Bryan talk about surprises and disappointment this year, games we played, what stood out, and our favorite moments on the show.
Thanks again and we look forward to a full year in 2024!

Re-releasing in 2010 for the PSP, we break out the handhelds for Ys: The Oath in Felghana, a remake of the 1989 Ys III: Wanders of Ys. What changes were there, is it better or worse? Is it worth the price or did the changes fall flat? (NA got a release on SNES as well as Genesis in 1991/1992). Bryan and Nate's first experience in the Ys series, join us on this episode of Is It Worth It for our first PSP title!
