Today, we come to a close in our summer series entitled, "Preparation for a King".  Today, we give a small glance at David's life. Why David would serve as the model for every King who follows him, and what we could come to expect when the King of Kings comes to this earth. We also examine why God Annointed David as King, when there was a King on the throne already. 

What was the one factor that caused Saul to move from being a good King, to one that was rejected by God? Today, we look at several factors that seem to point to his downfall but we then identify the central reason. Did God leave Saul or was there something else involved?

Today, we see how Saul should not have become King according to prophecy, yet he reigned 42 years. Was David's anointing as King God's back-up plan?  

When Israel asked for a king like all the nations around them, they had no idea the downgrade they were about to embark on. The scripture teaches that the arm of flesh will fail you--and God allowed them to have a man as a king. Therefore, Israel traded God for a man. The Good News however, is that God had someone in mind who would eventually sit on the throne who was absolutely worthy of the office. 

Today, we examine another part of Hannah's ecstatic utterance and see a theme that will play itself out in a number of Biblical characters in Samuel. The book of Samuel is a book of comparisons between those who will fear and listen to God, and those who refuse to listen to God's warnings. So, what are three very real dangers of Arrogance? That's what we will discover in today's message...

Today, in honor of Father's day we examine a very well known verse in Psalms. It's a divine challenge and invitation to get to know God in a more intimate way that could change many lives if accepted.

As we continue our Summer Series, "Preparation for a King" we have been looking at how the Old Testament scriptures point forward to Jesus Christ.  Today we notice a very astute observation made by Eli in 1 Samuel. How important is having a Mediator who stands between ourselves and a Holy God? How critical is it to have an intercessor who makes intercession before God the Father on our behalf? We not only tackle that topic but many more as well.

An Introduction to our Summer Series on Samuel. Today, we join Judges in the book of Judges with the very last Judge, Samuel. Like the last Judge in the book of Judges Samuel was a Nazarite. Unlike Samson though, Samuel was a great Judge, Prophet and Priest to Israel. Today we see the connection of the end of an era of Judges and the beginning of the Kings as far-reaching implications to not only the past but our present time.

The most common human experience is rejection. Playing sports, dating, job seeking, and family matters all risk rejection. Today, we discover a man who was not only rejected by his people but by family. We examine three things that help people mitigate rejection and help center the emotional impact of rejection. It is amazing that even the Lord Jesus experienced rejection. 

From Genesis to Revelation one can see the plan of God at work for the threat that sin poses in human's lives.  Today, we look at how God provides the answer, the provision and the hope for all humankind.
