We examine the claim of God that HE alone created man from the dust of the earth. We consider how complex and intricate are our bodies and wonder; how could any living creature have evolved into such a complex being? Only by the hand of God could such precision and wonder could life have been created.

Today, we examine John 14:1-3, where we now face the subject of the Lord's coming. We examine the early church Father's and what they taught, to see if there is any credence to the idea that the Rapture of the Church is a recent teaching coming out of the United States in 1833 as some believe.

In our last installment in our Study of John we see the resurrected Lord appear to reinstate His choice for the under Shepherd of His Church. The four steps that Jesus uses is personal to Peter. The steps that Jesus takes with those He calls could be very similar to what we see in John chapter 21. The first step is to correct Peter's confused calling. There are situations in any believer's life that can leave them confused about God's call. This correction can be immensely valuable to remind His child that God has not given up on them.

In this last installment of the prayer of Jesus found in the 17th chapter of John, we discover the Lord's prayer for those who would come to know the Lord after the disciples. His prayer for the multiply millions of believers who would come to follow and live for Him gives us insight into how valuable this renewed relationship is to our success in our journey of faith.

Last week we spoke about how Jesus prayed for himself. Today, we examine how the Lord prayed for HIS disciples. We learn four areas of concern that Jesus prayed for on behalf of the disciples. We not only learn the faithfulness of Jesus, but we are made aware of how HIS prayer addresses these same four areas in our lives. 

Today, we witness the beginning of our Lord's prayer for Himself, for HIs Disciples and finally for all those who will come later. Here is a prayer and its ramifications are still influencing our current generation, but not only ours, but for generations to come, until He returns.
