Today, as we finish the second chapter of John we discover that though the religious leaders remained defiant, many of the Jewish pilgrims came to a place of belief due to the many miraculous signs that Jesus performed. We also discover the purpose of signs and a warning of seeking miracles instead of the God whose hand performed them.

John's gospel is unlike the earlier gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke in that John uses the phrase 'miraculous signs.' John sets out to make the case that Jesus throughout his public ministry is leaving evidence that proves he is sent from God. In his second miraculous sign demanded by the Temple Priests the foundation is laid to what extent Jesus' authority reaches. John's purpose in his gospel is to lay out the case that Jesus is the Son of God.  

Today, we come to the first of the Lord's miraculous signs. At a local wedding, Jesus turns water into wine and opens the door on the Lord's earthy ministry. Though it seems like a simple account it is like all things that involve our Lord, there is much more than meets the eye. Jesus would change more than water...he came to change men. 

How do you see your role? The Lord promised his return...how do believers play a part in that?

In this last installment of this series we must deal with what would appear to be a great injustice. God protects the baby Jesus from Herod, but seems to be uncaring to an unknown number of toddlers and babies who Herod would put to the sword. Does God treat all fairly? Does God have favorites? We examine these questions and much more.

It is common in times of great traumatic events and high levels of stress to become angry and blame God. There is an unanswered question that is at the core of this anger, and it is that question that we address in today's message.

In the continuation of the story of the Magi seeking Jesus to worship him, we see the deceptive practice of the Grinch in our narrative, King Herod. We not only see his deception but the reason why he intentionally deceives the Magi. Herod is a type of Satan who wishes to steal Christmas by killing the baby Jesus. 

Today, we introduce the account of how a single man tried to steal Christmas. He was a king (with a small 'k') appointed by the occupying force of Rome. His name was Herod, and he was a Grinch and a Scrooge. In this message we notice the Tale of Two Kings and who is in ultimate control.

Today, we discover three discoveries by Nathanael when the Lord answered his question, "How do you know me?" Jesus refers to an Old Testament account involving Jacob. All of this leads Nathanael to have a 'God Moment' which leads him into confessing that Jesus was the Son of God. Jesus promised Nathanael that he would see greater things than the evidence that led him to his confession.

Today, we look on as John offers further evidence that Jesus is the Christ. Writing about the three declarations made by John the Baptist...we discover further testimony why Jesus is the 'Lamb that takes away the sin of the World."
