I believe that Wisconsin Football will have a good season in 2023. I think they will be a Top 10 team and finish 1st place in the Big Ten West because of their elite offensive line, lethal running back room, and quarterback Tanner Mordecai. Offensive improvements are the main reason I think this team will rebound, and overall the unit returns 8 starters. Defensively, this team returns 9 starters, including star linebacker Naema Njongmeta and defensive end Isaiah Mullens. Luke Fickell brought defensive coordinator Mike Tressel over from Cincinnati, where he led the 5th-best scoring defense in 2021 and the 20th-best in 2022. Tressel coached national championship-level defenses at Michigan State previously, where the offense (just like at Cincinnati) did not match the talent level, tenacity, and discipline of the defense. The Wisconsin Badgers are 3rd in the Big Ten in returning production, only behind Rutgers and Michigan, and with an awesome staff I think this team can reach heights the Badgers have never achieved before. I think this team can not only win the Big Ten Championship Game, but I think they can also reach the College Football Playoff and win a semifinal game as well. Sonny Dykes and TCU did it last year, and although it is going to be a very hard feat (I myself am not picking Wisconsin to win it all or reach the CFP), the Badgers have better depth at the lines of scrimmage and a better defense than TCU did last season. How high can Luke Fickell bring Wisconsin Football? I think the best he can bring them is a College Football Playoff appearance and a Big Ten Title in year one.

Bold Predictions Part 2! Today we will be discussing three more of my bold predictions for the 2023 College Football Season. Specifically, I will be talking about Penn State, Michigan, Ohio State, North Carolina, and Georgia. My first bold prediction in today's video and fourth overall is that The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Michigan Wolverines will beat Penn State by 21 points or more. This may sound unrealistic, but it nearly happened in 2022 and I want to explore the multiple reasons why. Penn State trails Michigan and Ohio State both in total roster talent but also returning production. The Nittany Lions also have a poorer reputation than the Buckeyes at developing quarterbacks while Michigan returns JJ McCarthy from last year. Penn State also has weaknesses on the interior of the offensive and defensive lines. In contrast, the Buckeyes and Wolverines have All-Big Ten and All-American players who fill the trenches. On top of the large margin of defeat, I think Ohio State and Michigan will combine for 80 or more points and 1,000 or more total rushing yards in those two games. Outside of that, I expect Penn State to win the rest of its games. My second bold prediction (fifth overall) is that Drake Maye and the North Carolina Tarheels will hit the under on their preseason win total, going 7-5 in the regular season and losing to Kentucky in the Duke's Mayo Bowl. Mack Brown seems to be washed as a head coach and his recruiting classes have taken a toll compared to previous seasons. Leading wide receiver Josh Downs departs the program and there are huge holes to be filled in the defensive secondary. This might be Mack Brown's final season. Finally, my third bold prediction (sixth overall) is that Georgia starting quarterback Carson Beck will break the school record for passing yards in a single season. The Bulldogs have a loaded wide receiver and tight end room this year, and they also return starting center Sedrick Van Pran to keep the defense steady. Georgia has a weak schedule, which means Carson Beck and the offense will hum along, scoring 42 or more points per game.

The Big Ten will be the deepest conference in College Football this season, and there will be plenty of games that will affect the conference's hopes of winning a National Championship. I want to focus on what I think will be the five most important games in Big Ten Conference play. The games are as follows: Iowa at Wisconsin, Ohio State at Wisconsin, Michigan at Penn State, Penn State at Ohio State, and Ohio State at Michigan. All of these matchups will be Top 20 at minimum, with the highest four matchups being Top 10 games in my opinion. I have Michigan at No.1 in my preseason Top 25, along with Ohio State at No.2, Penn State at No.7, and Wisconsin at No.10. Ohio State and Michigan are in their own tier of the Big Ten, as both made a College Football Playoff appearance and had 11 or more wins. Ohio State Football and Michigan Football are on top of the College Football world, as they plus the Georgia Bulldogs make up the three elite teams in America. Penn State can contend for that elite level, and while I have doubts about their offense and interior trench play on both sides of the football, the Nittany Lions have the talent to win the Big Ten, contend for a National Title, and also many opportunities to prove themselves. Wisconsin is a team that I am buying stock in this season because I think Luke Fickell is a Top 10 head coach and he has enough returning production and incoming transfer to right the ship in year one. Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State will canalize each other in the Big Ten East, and while Wisconsin plays in the West, they play Ohio State and must beat sound teams like Iowa and Minnesota at a minimum if they want a shot to win the conference.

Dan Lanning had a great first year at Oregon last year. The Ducks finished at No.15 in the final AP Poll, earned a 10-3 record with a Holiday Bowl win, and fielded a Top 10 scoring offense. With quarterback Bo Nix returning, along with wide receiver Troy Franklin and running backs Bucky Irving and Noah Whittington, Oregon's offense should be as explosive as ever. Couple what I just said with Lanning's staff using the portal to reload on the offensive line and defense, and this team could contend for a spot in the College Football Playoff as Pac-12 Champions. New offensive coordinator Will Stein should pick up where Kenny Dillingham left off. Stein was UTSA's co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach last year, helping UTSA quarterback Frank Harris finish as a Top 20 quarterback according to ESPN's QBR metric. I believe that Bo Nix will improve in 2023 and if the offensive line reloads, the offense could be among the fastest and most explosive in the country. On the offensive line, Oregon returns elite interior lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson along with Josh Conerly Jr at Tackle. EDGE player Jordan Burch will help an Oregon defense that was 75th in the country in points allowed per game in 2022, as he will assist the Ducks in pursuing opposing quarterbacks.

Several days ago I made a community post to my subscribers asking them for content they would want to see. The first video I wanted to make from these suggestions was about Michigan Football, specifically what weaknesses the Wolverines will have to overcome this season. The largest weakness Michigan will have to face in the 2023 season will be postseason preparation. The Wolverines are 1-6 under Jim Harbaugh when playing in postseason games, and 0-4 in New Year's Six Bowl Games and College Football Playoff matchups. Whether it was a loss to TCU in the Fiesta Bowl last year, a loss to Georgia in the Orange Bowl in 2021, or a loss to Florida in the Peach Bowl in 2018, Michigan looked unprepared every single time. As a Michigan fan, this is extremely irritating and I won't be able to tell if this issue is fixed until Michigan plays in a postseason game that matters (which isn't a guarantee) and wins it. I think Jim Harbaugh finally learns his lesson and has postseason success. I believe Michigan Football will win the National Championship this year with a 15-0 record. With that being said, every team has a part of their roster that is weaker than the others. For the Wolverines and offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore, the offense is stacked and will be elite, with only the wide receiver and tight end rooms potentially showing subpar play compared to the elite play at runningback and offensive line. Defensively is much the same, but defensive coordinator Jesse Minter will be keeping his eye on the cornerback room, as there are depth concerns there. This team lacks any gaping holes, but if their potential weaknesses aren't set straight, teams like Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State, and perhaps any postseason opponent will certainly take advantage of them.

5-star DT Justin Scott shocked the world by choosing Ohio State over Michigan yesterday. Larry Johnson was listed as the largest reason why Scott choose to commit to the Buckeyes over the Wolverines, who Scott said was his favorite after visiting Ann Arbor on June 9th. Johnson has been Ohio State's defensive line coach since 2014 and is one of the best recruiters and developers in the country. With the addition of the blue-chip prospect, Ohio State now has a firm grip on the nation's No.2 recruiting class with only 17 commits. They also hold the highest quality recruiting class, with the best average rank per commit in the country at 93.70. The Georgia Bulldogs currently hold the No.1 recruiting class with 22 commits, but with 6 5-stars still on Ohio State's board, the Buckeyes, who were once viewed as an afterthought in the 2024 recruiting class, can realistically land one of the best classes in 247Sports' history. Ohio State adds Justin Scott in pursuit of the No.1 recruiting class and also in the pursuit of Big Ten Championships and National Championships. This coming season is critical for Ohio State's defense, as both Jim Knowles and Larry Johnson watched their units struggle on defense in big games in 2022. I think the defense, especially the defensive line, will be elite in 2023 thanks to Jim Knowles and Larry Johnson doing what great coaches do, adapt. I believe this recruiting class is in good hands and serves as a testament as to why Ohio State Football is staying in the elite tier of College Football.

Dwayne Haskins, CJ Stroud, and Justin Fields were all developed into 1st round NFL Draft picks by coach Ryan Day. Day has established himself as a wizard at developing quarterbacks and as a consequence, he has recruited extremely well at the position. Ohio State currently has two quarterbacks that were rated inside of the Top 50 coming out of their respective high school recruiting classes. Junior Kyle McCord was a 5-star, while Devin Brown was a highly ranked 4-star. As a result of elite development and coaching, I expect CJ Stroud's torch to be seamlessly passed to Kyle McCord or Devin Brown. McCord is currently the favorite to start, but this quarterback battle is far from over as Devin Brown's hand has recovered from an injury he faced in the spring. Whoever starts under center with the Buckeyes will have a variety of elite weapons to choose from. Ohio State has two +1,000-yard wide receivers in Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka, a solid tight end in Cade Stover, and three running backs with +500 rushing yards last year in Miyan Williams, TreVeyon Henderson, and Dallan Hayden. Ryan Day's offense will also have an improved running game this year (if the running backs can stay healthy of course) because of returning production on the interior of the offensive line, which will take pressure off of the quarterback. Regardless of who starts, I don't think Ohio State Football will lose this quarterback battle. You cannot go wrong with either Kyle McCord or Devin Brown. Both are Top 15 quarterbacks nationally and we will see that from day one, even if the competition bleeds into the fall.

The time is now for Penn State to take the next step and fight for a Big Ten Championship. While the offense replaces quarterback Sean Clifford with Drew Allar and must replace center Juice Scruggs and wide receivers Parker Washington and Mitchell Tinsley, the defense has fewer question marks. However, can we trust this defense to help the Nittany Lions jump from great to elite? Penn State was 10th in scoring defense, 2nd in defensive passing efficiency, and 6th in sacks per game last year. Yet in their biggest games against Michigan and Ohio State, the Lions allowed 85 points, an average of ~500 yards per game, and only forced 3 sacks against those great offensive lines. If James Franklin is going to win Penn State its second Big Ten Title since 2008, the defense has to perform at an elite level against elite offenses. I think defensive coordinator Manny Diaz has the potential to lead the best defense in the nation in 2023. Penn State's defense returns elite players such as cornerback Kalen King, linebacker Abdul Carter, and defensive end Adisa Isaac. They also have great players like Chop Robinson and Dani-Dennis Sutton at defensive end, Curtis Jacobs at linebacker, Johnny Dixon at cornerback, and Keaton Ellis at safety. This defense will have a strong, overwhelming pass rush and their pass defense will be great thanks to secondary players like Kalen King and cornerbacks coach Terry Smith (who could be one of the nation's best defensive recruiters). The questions I have regarding this defense are: 1) Who will step up and replace PJ Mustipher at defensive tackle? 2) How will this defense hold its ground against elite offensive lines, especially in stopping the run? 3) Even with Kalen King, can they replace Ji'Ayir Brown and Joey Porter Jr. in the secondary? I think that while this defense will be great, they won't be elite as they will struggle to hold their ground against elite offenses, especially a strong rushing attack like the one Michigan's offense has.

The No.1 prospect in the state of Nebraska has decided to stay home by committing to the Nebraska Cornhuskers this after. Carter Nelson, Nebraska's best high school player and the nation's No.2 TE prospect according to 247Sports (No.7 according to 247Sports Composite), is 6'4" and 205 pounds. He had +500 receiving yards in both of his past two seasons and he has plenty of room to grow into a star college athlete. His commitment is a huge win for the program and for Nebraska's head coach Matt Rhule, as he and his staff now have the No.14 recruiting class and they have successfully kept the No.1 in-state player from leaving Nebraska for 2 years in a row. Matt Rhule has been collecting win after win this offseason, whether it be in the transfer portal or on the high school recruiting trail. Hopefully, we will see this success translate to wins on the field this season and beyond. I think it is more of a question of "when" rather than "if" Matt Rhule will succeed at Nebraska, but only Saturdays will tell that story. I expect the Huskers to finish the 2024 recruiting cycle with a Top 25 recruiting class and potentially one inside of the Top 20 if they land more 4-star players.

High school recruiting is the lifeblood of College Football because it is absolutely necessary to competently recruit in order to build a successful program. Some coaches do this by only seeking after diamonds in the rough, but the most successful programs do this by recruiting top-notch 5-star players to enroll in their program. The Big Ten has traditionally been a developmental conference, which means very few Big Ten Football programs actively court blue-chip prospects. However, the Ohio State Buckeyes, Michigan Wolverines, and Penn State Nittany Lions have been the exception to this rule, which is why these programs are the Big Ten's best and will be for the near and distant future. All three currently have Top 10 recruiting classes and an average recruit rank of 90 or higher, the equivalent of a lower-ranked 4-star at minimum. These programs have dominated their conference in wins, NFL draft picks, and have even been the biggest benefactors of the new TV deals. I believe that these three programs will also be Top 10 teams in 2023 and probably 2024 as well. Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State continue to dominate Big Ten recruiting, and it doesn't look like anyone else (except for new conference foe USC in 2024) will have a chance to catch up to them.
