  • Live from St. Andrews it's Burko, Brentley and Northwestern's David Inglis!
For the first time in 111 episodes, Burko and Brentley are together live – and what better place to do it at than the Rusacks Hotel in St. Andrews, where just hours earlier Northwestern's men and Arizona's women won the team titles at the St. Andrews Links Collegiate on the Old Course. After some brief discussion over hotel minutiae, Northwestern head coach David Inglis, a Scotland native from just down the road in Edinburgh, is welcomed on the pod. The conversation is wide-ranging, including the Wildcats' growth this fall, Inglis' connection with St. Andrews, Luke Donald (inarguably the Wildcats' greatest alum), Matt Fitzpatrick (arguably the greatest single-semester alum), NCAA golf future and much more. The episode ends with Burko and Brentley about to crack open an IRN BRU, which Burko is very unsure about when told it tastes like bubblegum. (Behind the scenes: Burko did try it, nearly spit it out because of the carbonation, but finished the can like a champ.) Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See https://pcm.adswizz.com

In this week's episode, Brentley catches up with Oklahoma senior Drew Goodman, who explains why the Sooners have now won back-to-back tournaments, while also talking the legend of Ryan Hybl, an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction, running a half marathon and more. Before that, Burko and Brentley, after multiple connectivity issues, share an update on Hurricane Helene and the devastation it has caused for local golf team. La Costa getting two more years is discussed, and then several big tournament results are combed through, from the Windy City to Colonial and many stops in between. • Bruce Heppler on Georgia Tech's Olympia Fields win, UNLV hoops stories, escaping from an elevator
In what was a first for this podcast, Georgia Tech head coach Bruce Heppler escaped from an elevator just in time to record. Safely back in his office, Heppler talks about the significant of the Yellow Jackets' win at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational last weekend, Ben Reuter's incredible journey so far in college golf, the ever-changing landscape of college golf and athletics in general and what it was like coaching 6-foot-9 Christo Lamprecht. He then shares some old stories about his start in coaching – and time before that serving as 'cheerleader supervisor' and equipment manager for the UNLV basketball team under legendary coach Jerry Tarkanian. The story about Heppler, Stacey Augmon and Co. driving around Louisville one night is a must-listen! Burko and Brentley then say goodbye to Hepp and dive right into a bevy of results, from Oklahoma winning Valero to Texas getting its first win under coach Laura Ianello at the Mason Rudolph. Oh, and if you have any tips on growing grass in Central Florida, please send to Brentley. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See https://pcm.adswizz.com

  • An open and honest conversation with South Carolina's Hannah Darling
For this week's episode, Burko and Brentley quickly recap a lean week results-wise and look ahead to some big-time events, including Luke Clanton's return for FSU at Olympia Fields. The bulk of the show, though, is dedicated to South Carolina senior Hannah Darling, who shares with Brentley how she's overcome some struggles earlier this year to get back to her winning ways for the Gamecocks. She explains why she took an extended break after a disappointing NCAA Championship and how she easily could've not been playing golf right now. They then discuss Scotland's best golf courses, the "secret range" at St. Andrews and a crazy fact about her head coach Kalen Anderson. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. • FSU's Amy Bond on Folds, Mirabel's win; Selling Sargent stock?
In this episode, Burko and Brentley welcome FSU women's coach Amy Bond to talk about the significance of the Folds of Honor Collegiate, plus junior Mirabel Ting's win, the Seminoles' season outlook and even a little .500 rule talk. After having some fun with the Folds helmet trophy, Burko and Brentley dive into some other results. Hannah Darling's resurgence is discussed, as is whether South Carolina is for real after winning the Annika in a route. Also, Virginia has its praises sung after topping Auburn at Inverness, though there is still some concern about Gordon Sargent. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See https://pcm.adswizz.com

  • Heck caps career by leading Stanford to NCAA title; men's championship on tap
On this episode of College Golf Talk, Burko and Brentley recap the NCAA Women's Championship, from stroke-play thoughts to an all-Pac-12 semifinal round to UCLA's run under first-year coach Alicia Um Holmes to finally, Stanford's third NCAA title of the match-play era – and Rachel Heck's fitting close to her college career. Then they pivot to the men's championship, which begins Friday. They talk favorites, sleepers and more. Plus, there are some La Costa takes and some coaching news. • We're on to La Costa after chaos at NCAA men's regionals
Burko and Brentley hop on for a late-night recording – and Brentley forgets to switch over to his actual mic, so apologies for the broken AirPod audio at times – just hours removed from a wild Wednesday of NCAA Division I men's golf regionals. They break down all the chaos, from Arizona State's "embarrassing" exit as a top seed and similar disappointment from a whopping four of the six No. 2 seeds. Plenty of kudos are given, especially to Stanford and its star seniors, who survived at home. Burko gets his revenge on Brentley in their picks. And then they shift to the NCAA Women's Championship, which starts Thursday. They look at the favorites, throw some other contenders in the hat, and Brentley offers up his early-wave sleeper – that really shouldn't be a sleeper. Finally, they get completely off the rails about trading cards of college golfers and Burko gets nerdy about grading and rare finds. This was a fun one! Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
