  • Matchweek 23: Colney Talk | Arsenal - Liverpool

Arsenal gave Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp a deserving send off when they visited the Emirates. This was a matchup that was overdue a good outcome for Arsenal. Even the stats backed up the narratives of the game. The attack while missing a key player in Jesus did not miss a beat. And a rewarding appearance for Jorginho to drive the team with top class technical quality. It was not an easy game despite the performances. The intangibles from the home crowd and mental resilience by the players played a huge factor in staying up in the game.

On this episode, I spoke about the players that kept Arsenal's rhythm and hunger strong. A lot of credit to the players on how they looked after the mishap in the first half. Certainly an area of focus for the backline and in front, Odegaard looks to be in the growing mode with his touches. I hope the boys will take this confidence and hunger to the next games. A joyous week for The Arsenal. It's a great day! Listen, share and subscribe.

  • Matchweek 22: Colney Talk | Nottingham Forest - Arsenal

Arsenal visited Nottingham Forest at The City Ground - a place that has haunted this team especially from last year's title chasing falter. This time, we held on to secure a would be comfortable victory turned worrisome. The first excitement leading up to kick off was Emile Smith Rowe in the starting lineup. That translated to the attention in Arsenal's attacking plan. Most of the positive game plan suffered the struggles and unlucky ball directions in goal attempts.

Given the high demands and expectations, creativity and resilience opened things up for the Gunners to get ahead and stay ahead. There were a number of brilliant performances and luck to keep the game fate in our favor. Besides my top 3 performers, I had to call out one player deserving of a holler. This win has allowed the authority needed for what is to come this weekend. Arsenal will continue to show their mettle.  Please listen and share. Hope to connect with you all on the same vibe. Well done boys! This is Arsenal! Here we come!

  • Matchweek 21: Colney Talk | Arsenal - Crystal Palace

Arsenal stormed in their first premier league game of the year with a bang! They hosted Crystal Palace at the Emirates and it rained goals. It was an impressive win that represented the type of wins we had hoped for in previous matches. I was surprised in this game starting from the lineup change to set piece formation and goal heroes.

Given the freshness the team had benefited during their break, I was looking forward to the updated game style and strength in certain areas. Well, I can said that there was a bit more intention that showed in their play and my top performers were amongst them. Please listen and share. This is a start of the long run ahead. Credit to the boys on their display. Enjoy! This is North London Arsenal.

  • Matchweek 20: Colney Talk | Fulham - Arsenal

Arsenal closed out 2023 calendar season with a miserable dud of a loss against Fulham. Hoping to bounce back from previous loss, the team had a poor outing. Lacking energy and fight, they could not keep their early lead in the game; neither could they maintain their defensive identity. Very hard to understand this funk and what could have triggered the counter game engagement.

Some players were better than the rest. Even though the whole production wasn't worth any excitement. I looked at the positives and things that will nurture our hopes each week. Please listen and share. Hope to connect with you all in the new year. Only way is North!

  • Matchweek 19: Colney Talk | Arsenal - West Ham

Arsenal hit with slide of bad luck and misfortune at the Emirates. A game many expected to be a victory was anything but. Even with one missing starting player, this wasn't the Gunners day in terms of goal impacts. It seemed there was a funky aura that didn't allow the game to flow as it should have. It was an abundance of frustration - especially for the players who were worn down by the number of efforts to get on the score board; but were denied. VAR and more unfortunate moments like giving away penalty in the dying minutes killed the game for us.

While I had to give credit to a few, there were handful of Arsenal players worthy for the odd player. But I had to recognize the ones that were a bit above the rest. Like many, I'd quickly reset for the next game before the year runs out. Listen to my interesting take on the game and share with a friend. We move on! Here's the next one! C'mon Arsenal!

  • Matchweek 18: Colney Talk | Liverpool - Arsenal

Arsenal went to Anfield. One of the toughest match up of the season. The game ended in a 1-1 draw which felt like a fair result for Arsenal than the home team. We were rewarded with a fast start but it unable to gain another scoring opportunity that had us closer to a second goal. Meanwhile Liverpool came back storming to score and would have easily won this game. We had luck on our side.

We can claim this as a Christmas gift as we continue to fight off the rest of the other good teams to claim the top spot. While I had my top 3, there were 4 contenders for the odd 1 in this game. But only player gets that nomination. Listen while you enjoy Christmas celebration with family and friend. Share and subscribe. Here's to the team! Up the Arsenal!

  • Matchweek 17: Colney Talk | Arsenal - Brighton

Arsenal returned to winning form beating Brighton 2-nil. It was a total domination by Arsenal. A bit unfortunate the game score didn't represent the level of domination. It was a different level of play from the Gunners that took away Brighton's element - for the first half and most of the second. A complete attacking performance that would rep benefits when we go up against notable coached teams.

On this episode, among my top 3 and honorable mentions, I gave a hot take that I haven't heard as much and a couple of issues that leave us frustrated. Huge credit to the boys & coaches for the win. Please listen, share and subscribe. This was a fun one. We face another giant next. We roll on! C'mon Arsenal!

  • UCL MatchDay 6: Colney Talk | PSV - Arsenal

The final group match of the Champions League group stage was concluded with a 1-1 draw. While many were anticipating some appearances from any of the academy kids, the reality was not there to make everything align for them. Arsenal fielded most of the available fringe players mixed with the steady defensive starters and a competition debut for Ramsdale. Given the lack of chemistry between the fringe players, it showed in the game as it took a while to grow and gain momentum. So much disjointed flow going forward while enduring most of the game's minutes defending and absorbing PSV's pressure.

I expected a bit more flashes from other player who had some recent game rotations. Yet they did not make it to my top 3 performance - including my odd 1. Nevertheless the team should be proud in their achievement so far with a game to spare. This was a game with less pressure and minimal complains. So listen and enjoy. Well done boys! Up the Arsenal!

  • Matchweek 16: Colney Talk | Aston Villa - Arsenal

Arsenal's big match up against Aston Villa ended in a 1-nil defeat. Besides a couple of bad VAR calls, Arsenal had the rest of the game's outcome to their own fate. They had less of their attacking prowess throughout the game. Despite earnest attempts, Arsenal couldn't convert the scoring opportunities missing crucial open chances to possible victory. The frustration built on even as we had the dominating advantage to score increase. Yet the struggles lingered. Aston Vila had a bit of luck keep them as the winner but the blame was with Arsenal's performances.

My top 3 players, while with mix feelings were the most influential to get us a result. Listen and let me know if they were your better players as well. For now, we reset move on and mount up. Listen to this pod and share with a friend. Chin up Arsenal!

  • Matchweek 15: Colney Talk | Luton Town - Arsenal

We got another last minute thriller win against Luton Town with the exact same final score as Bournemouth last season. Arsenal almost suffered an unexpected shock in the match against Luton. We were plagued by uncharacteristic mistakes and physical challenged to knock us off our rhythm. In some fashion, it worked but not the way most would see it. As the saying goes winning cures all. But it still shocking on VAR calls and absurd booking - for celebration!

On this pod I discussed and expressed my thoughts in the game. My top 3 players we comfortable deserving; just as my odd 1. While injuries are inevitable, we have to look at unlikely heroes for the next 3-4weeks defensibly. Please listen and subscribe. We continue to climb. Now on to another big test. Onwards & upwards. C'mon Arsenal!
