Arsenal beat Wolves at the Emirates. But it was a weird one. Match commentary, stats and field tilt would have one wonder why the final score looked like we an upset was within minutes of the final whistle. Certainly it looked like that was a bit of the summary overshadowing how brilliant Arsenal were throughout the game.
I talked about that feeling on this episode and other questions as well. I did have to replace one of my top 3 performers because of how the story of the game went. Please listen and subscribe. Here's comes the flurry of games as we reset for the next. Let's hope a couple of the injured players can come back and contribute before the year runs out. On to the next! Here's to wishing for extended victories. Up the Arsenal.
Champions League Matchday 5 was all Arsenal. While there were different shades of drama in different matchup games, Arsenal has the most game worthy in highlights and special mention. It was a revenge-statement game - at the Emirates. Lens were demolished with a few more goals left on the pitch. This game was especially a delight because Kai was man-of-the-match like with his goal, pre-assists and impact. So much of his intelligence broke out in addition to the attacking brilliance of Jesus, Saka & Martinelli.
Kai was among my top 3 performers. Listen and compare if they were also yours. Thankfully we left this game without injuries and room for a few more to get their rusts off. Now we have done the business with a game to spare. I'm sure we'll appreciate the game in different way then. Huge shout out to the boys! They made us proud. Now we quickly reset for the weekend. Onwards & upwards. C'mon Arsenal!
First game back from the International break - thanksgiving weekend. Arsenal visited Brentford. A team we have come to fully understand is difficult to breakdown. It was a late victory for the gunners. One that the team completely appreciates given how close or unlucky Brentford were to not have been 2 goals up in the game. The most notable chance for them from Ramsdale's error could have seen us lose the game. Thankfully, some individual brilliance were alert to save us and provide a clean-sheet.
On this episode, I picked my top 3 performers and odd 1 whom you could guess. But there were a few other aspects I touched on about the consequences and underlining issue that needs to be addressed - perhaps a teaching moment. Now we sit top of the league while we carry-on for our other crucial players to return from injury. Great results and outcome for Arsenal. Now we shift our sights to mid-week competition. Only way is North! We are the North London Arsenal! C'mon!!
While many expected Arsenal to take care of business which they did, it was not without its own kinds of challenges. Without Ben White for the game, Tomiyasu did the job. Arsenal managed to show an impressive side of superiority without looking off beat. So many bright actions calling for the required end-product. The team still continues to look for that seamless production in that "killer-phase". Thankfully, Saka & Martinelli enforced a lot of attacking pressure opening up the gameplan for the rest to jump in.
I spoke about the few missing elements, my top 3 players and a player in close consideration for odd-1. I touched on a few other players worthy of mention and how it reflected on the team. Please listen and share with fellow friends. Now we enjoy this win a bit more until a few missing players are fit for the rest of the year. Another solid performance deserving of praise by the fans and many others. Enjoy! This is North London Arsenal. C'mon!!
Quick turn around for the second leg of Arsenal against Sevilla in the Champions League group match. It was an impressive 2-nil victory without Eddie Nketiah and Martin Odegaard. The Gunners were strong enough to dominate and render Sevilla powerless in the game. So many brilliant individual performance and team cohesion.
On this byte-size episode, I talked about the influencing players and the things that were done to overshadow any weakness or element we may or may not have lacked. While it is part of the game, there could be a little more we can do to avoid injuries; lately, it has been a topic involving Saka. Given the series of absence, we can't afford any more as we head into the heavier calendar schedules. This win gave the players and fans a lift to setup for the weekend. Listen to this pod and share with a friend. We move! C'mon Arsenal!
Arsenal first loss of the season at St James' Park was not the a loss without "what-if" element taking over the game. The body count of first team players like Odegaard to the list is a growing worry. Fortunately, Arsenal were mature and ready to battle at this dreadful ground. The positives showed in a number of phases but lack significantly in one that needed to change the outcome at the end of the whistle.
I talked about the top players, the possibilities we are faced with at the moment - more so this month. So as the players and coaches turn the page, there is something more that must be addressed; which I spoke about. Listen to my top 3 performers and one slight mention of one player. Now this game is behind us. We all have to remain positive and quickly prepare for the next. Only way is forward. Up the Arsenal! Share and subscribe.
An entertaining home game against Sheffield United. Arsenal has a spectacular performance in their 5-0 victory. The gunners with a few startling line up changes still brought an excitement. Arsenal fans were delighted to witness Eddie Nketiah's show with this first-ever hat-trick display. We also enjoyed good performances from the other young talents - Saka, Martinelli & Smith Rowe. In another memorable event Tomiyasu netted his first goal in the Arsenal shirt. A lovely moment for him and for Vieira's penalty goal to celebrate his personal excitement. Arsenal remain dominant and control the game throughout. It was an excellent display of cohesion, great passing and intelligent positioning. The effects in the middle orchestrated the game dictating the attacking tempo and holding rock solid poise in defense.
In this episode I talked about the few players that started and importance of setting the standard. Besides the player of the game, I had a couple other players that had to be praised on their performance. About the odd 1? It is possible to debate who. Hopefully these positives rubs off into the mid-week. Enjoy this byte-size episode, subscribe and share with your friends! Only way is North! We are the North London Arsenal!
Arsenal visted Sevilla at their ground. A deserving 2-1 victory but not with a lot of sweat and cringy situations. The brilliance of the first half was from our 2 Gabi's. That followed on in the second. But wasn't all told because Sevilla come back fighting and the home crowd pushed them on. It was a good defensive display by Arsenal. The best comfort holding on to the lead was knowing we had arguably the best defensive duo standing firm.
There were a number of individual brilliance by a few other players and an odd 1. Listen to my take and other questions that need to be discussed at this moment in time. While that will not take away the positive outcome, there are other worries that hang above - not forgetting the status on Jesus. Now we press on for the weekend. Up the Arsenal!
Big 6 matchup. Coming back from International break, this was one of the most anticipated game in Matchweek 9. Arsenal were dealt with a tough battle against Chelsea. The main positive was coming away with a draw. It felt like one of less impressive outings for the team - especially, away. Most of our good games have been away. We ate humble pie with our sloppiness and lack of attacking prowess. One commendable element was the fight and belief the team had, which lead them to get a result.
On this episode, I talked about the means to getting a favorable result. But not without abandoning our core game tactics and playmakers. Most of this the discussion isn't about our gameplay but the lack of it. Thankfully, we had good performers to step-in and bring out our quality. I would like to think this experience recalibrates the team and raises the standard. Listen to who my odd players was today and the other top performers. Credit to the team for getting this result. We move. Now we quickly reset for the next game. Onwards & upwards. Listen, share and subscribe.
Our biggest rival came to our house and this time we took care of business. Even without our Starboy, we managed to break the losing streak and voodoo of misfortunes against this City team. There wasn't much of Arsenal pretty plays until much later in the game. I doubt that was the emphasis. This chess match required high technical I.Q and awareness. We got lucky in a number of situations.
I picked out my top 3 players and struggled to decide the odd 1. This game, to me, was one where we got the best out of our impact players starting with Jorginho and Tomiyasu, creating the chain for the only goal in the game. It really mattered in this match and that gives more confidence to the squad - I think. Now more needs to be said about the lack of goal-threat and finishes within the box. I don't expect that to go away until the numbers and effects turn in the right direction. For now, this win is in the history books and will carry the team forward. Enjoy this byte-size episode and share with your friends! It's a great day! It's a great day!
