Pawi's a fiction writer, and I write nonfiction; he's a filmmaker, and I write long blog posts that contain everything I've ever thought about a topic. We write about very different topics, but the reason we write is the same: we write because we need to.
At least for me, the need to write wasn't something I always understood about myself, it's something that became clear after I started writing. Part of the goal of this episode is to convince other people to start writing too, but hopefully it's interesting even if you're not interested in writing at all (but you should).
In this episode, we talk about how people can started writing, the exercises that we do to get better, the commonalities between fiction and non-fiction, and the therapeutic process of writing and understanding yourself.
Pawi can be found on Instagram @Pawifiction (in case you were wondering about the weird title)
He also has a podcast called The Small Break, in which he interviews filmmakers who have recently released their first feature film. It can be found anywhere iTunes podcasts can be found.
