What will you be asked at the end of your life? Each one of us is called to stewardship and to be a steward. We have been gifted the sacrament of baptism to fulfill the mission to proclaim the good news of God. How much love are you showing to your community, your family, and others? Let us challenge ourselves every day to be a lover and allow Christ to use us in the service of others.

Homily for the 31st Thursday in Ordinary Time

If they persist, then God wants to talk to you about it. How often do we hear the voice of God speaking to us but put off praying to Him or simply saying "Here I am Lord" just as Isaiah? God is so faithful to redeem us, restore us, and keep us following Him, but we must daily open our hearts and make room for Him.

There's things that we may be limiting God in, and with that we often put him in a little box. But let us be like St. Joseph who was detached from his own will, his own desires, and his own plans, to leave room for God to do amazing things in it. Let go of the things that are possessing your heart that is not of God, and let God be the one who fulfills it.

Grief is hard and grief is real. Oftentimes is comes and goes in waves, but it often shapes us from who were were to who we are now. However, through it all, God is faithful. Through him we know that death has no hold over us and death isn't the end.

Homily for the 31st Monday in Ordinary Time

The Saints remind us that they were ordinary people like us. They were men and women whom Jesus Christ made his own. They offer us hope and remind us of the destiny God has in store for those he loves. They remind us that this life is a preparation for eternal union with God in heaven. Let us pray daily that we find the courage to seek out that abundant life with the saints.

That guy's "all-in." How many times have we heard someone say that? When someone is "all-in" they're not afraid to get back up again and keep going. They don't let obstacles pull them down and keep them down. Our God is an all-in God, and He has called and empowered us to be all-in people...so what is stopping you from going all-in for Jesus?

Homily for 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time | 10:30 AM

Loving God with all your heart...what does that look like? To love God with our whole being is like a daily exercise. We may not always wake up in the morning with our hearts inclined toward the Lord, but we can start the day by turning our hearts to our Lord Jesus.  

When we let the veil be removed we can see the Lord, His beauty, His virtues, and how wonderful He is. Then He infuses more of what He is, including love, into us. In this way, our love for Him grows. As we enjoy God’s love, we’ll love Him in return more and more.

Homily for the 30th Friday in Ordinary Time

Our sins are oftentimes an external manifestation of a much deeper problem. However, Jesus invites us to lay our burdens at the altar and give them to him. He wants us to not be ashamed of those sins and he wants us to let go and let Him heal us. Today, invite Jesus into your heart, not just part of your heart, but your whole heart.

Homily for the 30th Thursday in Ordinary Time

Saints Simon and Jude were members of the original twelve apostles. Both were known by other names during their lives. They not only share the same feast day, but they share the same tomb as well. Saint Simon was surnamed “the Zealot”. He was zealous for the honor of Christ and exact in all duties to the Christian life. Saint Jude was also known as “Jude Thaddeus.” Saint Jude is the patron saint of hopeless causes and desperate situations. People often pray to Jude when they feel that there is no one else to turn to. Because Jude had such great faith, we know that nothing is impossible for those who believe in the Lord.

Am I producing fruit, or am I dying? As followers of Christ, we must stay firmly connected to Him to remain spiritually productive. A branch draws strength, nourishment, and protection from the vine. If it is broken off, it quickly dies and becomes unfruitful. When we neglect our spiritual life, ignore the Word of God, skimp on prayer, we are like a branch broken off the vine. Our lives become fruitless. We need daily surrender, daily communication, and daily—sometimes hourly—repentance and connection with the Holy Spirit in order to fulfill our duty to grow the kingdom of God.
