As the Lord commissioned his disciples to reproduce themselves by calling sinners from all nations to join them in confessing and following Christ, he emphasized our duty to baptize these disciples. This Sunday, we continue to consider the great spiritual foes we face as believers. Last week, we especially considered the Devil who is scheming against us. This week, we consider v 12 and the spiritual powers who have conspired with the Devil to attack us. These sinister forces are great, which is why Paul urges a second time the necessary message of v 13: Therefore, take up the whole armor God.
