Lee Vidal and Paco Ciocarlan are firefighters with East Metro Fire Rescue and compete in the firefighter combat challenge with the A-Town Combat Team. Last week, the team placed 1st at Nationals. They will be competing at the World Combat Challenge Championships in Florida next month. We talk about competition and the benefits of physical challenge, and how the clock is both loved and hated for being the most objective measurement of performance. There is also a little discussion on participation trophies and tough conversations with kids about getting better and not blaming teammates or coaches.
