If Jesus hadn't ascended and applied the blood to the mercy seat in Heaven, it would be as if an Israelite has slain a Lamb and not applied the blood to the doorpost on the night of Passover in Egypt. If Jesus hadn't ascended, He would not have been able to pour out His Spirit from the Heavens. His ascension is critical to our covering, our cleansing, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and in this revelation lives an invitation for us, also, to be ascended with Him!
