The last year in the life of notorious gangster Al Capone was filled with dementia, dirty diapers, FBI surveillance and hallucinations, at least according to the new film Capone (2020). Is it worth your time and ten bucks? Stan and Maude have some thoughts.

Maude picked the romantic comedy Crazy Stupid Love starring Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore and Emma Stone. Maude schools Stan on what episode it is and they make some disgusting noises as well as discussing the movie.

Barbra Streisand and Ryan O’Neal lead a star-studded cast in an homage to the screwball comedies of the past, with more than a passing nod to classic Bugs Bunny cartoons, in “What’s Up, Doc?” This film is a childhood favorite of Stan’s, but what does Maude think?

Maude’s selection this week is Peter Jackson’s 2009 supernatural thriller “The Lovely Bones.” While both Stan and Maude enjoyed the film, they each have issues.

A creepy clown gains viral fame on YouTube and a documentary crew tries to figure out what’s going on. This was Stan’s choice and neither he nor Maude may ever forgive him.

Maude took a chance and picked a film outside her comfort zone, 2017’s “You Were Never Really Here,” starring Joaquin Phoenix as a broken man trying to save a young girl.

One of Stan’s favorite films from 2017 is his choice this week as he and Maude watched My Friend Dahmer about the high school years of Jeffrey Dahmer, told from the perspective of one of the future serial killer cannibals’ few friends. It’s not the lightest movie to watch during a pandemic, but it is a beautiful piece of art.
