Marvel’s shaking everything up this month, with a brand new Captain America, a brand new Lady Thor, and a brand new…wait, no, we’re not getting a new Wolverine, we’re just losing the old one. But you never know..
The crew is showing the love for Thor #1, All-New Captain America #1, and Death of Wolverine #3. They’re not showing quite so much love for Bucky Barnes: The Winter Soldier #1 or Black Widow #11, but they discuss those too. Be warned, they’re spoiling EVERYTHING.
Along the way they also talk Oktoberfest, SCA, San Diego Comic Fest, and whether or not dentists should have lightsabers.

Do you have a fictional hero that comes from your town? Would you want a statue of him/her in a public place? Of course you would, that would be awesome! This week Anthony and Elizabeth talk about Edmonton's petition to erect a statue of the Canadian hero, Milo Manara's future Marvel Comic variants all being canceled in the wake of the "Ass Cleavage Scandal", as I'm calling it, and of course some of our favorite comics of the last week.
If you haven't read Saga #23, Magneto #10, or Guardians of the Galaxy #19 then spoilers be warned! Fans of My Little Pony or Alien should stick to the end... or if you're a fan of both.. it could happen.

As another dawn opens on the weekly celebration that is Comic Book Day the podcast that you both want and deserve! This week Anthony and Elizabeth hit the rack to bring to you some of the best comics from last week just in time to pick them up with this week's books.
Among our favorite books was the comic that everyone probably assumed we were already loving, Transformers #33, which made us feel like kids buried in die-cast awesomeness. Also following up last week's Bachalo love-fest is the Bachalo-less love for Uncanny X-Men #26's scary-powerful new mutant and a deep look at Cyclop's current psyche. Wrapping up the podcast we send Thor off in God of Thunder #25 and an anthology leading to teasers for next month's Thor #1 starring Lady Thor, don't worry we figured out how to say it without being derogatory.
Original broadcast date September 17, 2014. The original podcast post is here: https://pixelatedgeek.com/2014/09/comic-issues-podcast-188-our-favorite-comics-this-week/
This week the crew is doing one big round-up of our favorite comics. (Our current favorites anyway. It changes a lot.)
First: since Marvel's cornered the market on the best comic-book movies, is DC trying to take over TV? Can they do it?
Then we're looking at some of the latest Marvel books to hit the stands. Magneto #9 continues his one-man, self-disgust-fueled vengeance run against, well, everybody apparently. Over on Uncanny X-men we're taking bets on who's going to inherit the school, once hologram-Xavier quits screwing around and actually tells us. Then we take a look at Death of Wolverine issues 1 and 2. What's likely to kill Wolverine first: one of the thousands of people out for his blood? Or an infection from stabbing somebody who didn't take a lot of baths?
Original broadcast date September 10, 2014. The original podcast post is here: https://pixelatedgeek.com/2014/09/comic-issues-podcast-187-the-scandalous-spider-woman/
There's been a lot of talk about the upcoming variant cover to Spider-woman #1 and if erotic artist Milo Manara has gone too far with his sexy portrayal of the femme fatal. This week your podcasting heroes Anthony and Elizabeth take a look at the scandal to ask themselves if Manara and the comic industry are putting women into a bad position, or if they're just drawn that way.
Let us know what you think in the comment section below, does Manara's cover go to far or are people making a big deal over nothing?
Original broadcast date September 3, 2014. The original podcast post is here: https://pixelatedgeek.com/2014/09/comic-issues-186-the-doctor-has-landed/
Spoilers! We've been waiting for months, and it's finally here! No, not football season (but have fun with that too.) No, it's new episodes of Doctor Who, with a brand new Doctor! Peter Capaldi has his first full episode as the 12th Doctor (or is it the 13th?) and Anthony and Elizabeth are breaking down the entire episode into itty bitty wibbly wobbly pieces.
If you haven't seen the Series 8 premiere episode, you'll want to skip this podcast, we're spoiling everything.

This week Andrew is back! Taking a break from his duties as Father, Husband, and Code Monkey, Andrew comes to the podcast to talk about the current Star Wars rumors. Together Anthony and Andrew express the confidence in J. J. Abrams for the practical effects, new cast, and along the way the podcasting duo come up with a possible plot for Episode VII, as well as an over arcing story for the new trilogy.
What do you think of a Sith Lord Skywalker or a new apprentice? Let us know in the comments below!
Side note: After recording Andrew and Anthony realized that they were thinking of Darth Vader's hand in Return of the Jedi. It looks like these nerds got too wrapped up in their own fun. Minus 500 pts for Comic Issues' Nerd Cred.

In the wide wake that has been left behind SDCC your favorite podcasting hero and heroine Anthony and Elizabeth wash up on the banks of the Villainous Lair once again to be joined by their native friend Sara. This week the then "Leaked", now "Released" Deadpool test screen footage is all the rage as hope is once again risen for a proper DP movie, but will anything come of the 4+ mins of taco lovin' goodness? Also on this podcast is talk of the trailer for the Mad Max reboot, excitement for what's coming out on TV this fall, and the creepiest siren you'll ever hear in your life... thanks Chicago, we can't un-hear that.
