  • Batman: Two-Face Returns [Arc Analysis #48]

You're never gonna guess what this book is about! Okay, you ready? It's Batman, right? But in this book, Two-Face RETURNS.

There is also Catgirl and The Riddler has a sidekick but what's really important here is that this was the penultimate arc for the original Batman comic before the New 52 reboot.

Does that alone make it worth a read since the story is ridiculous (especially if you're a Face fan)? Listen in and find out, no free previews.

  • #76 - Ed Brubaker & Sean Phillips 6-Pack

There are plenty of great comic book creative teams, but are any as consistent as the team of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips? That's a loaded question and a matter of opinion, of course, but if you're a fan of their style of dark storytelling, stop reading this and press play already.

We've compiled our past 6 Arc Analysis episodes together for this episode (hence '6Pack') and at the very end, we give them our own personal rankings. The stories included are:

Kill or be Killed, Vol 1

Sleeper, Vol 1: Out in the Cold
    Criminal, Vol 1: Coward
The Fade-Out, Vol 1: Act One
Fatale, Vol 1: Death Chases Me
    Incognito, Vol 1

  • Mister Miracle (2017) [Arc Analysis #47]

Heaven. Hell. Limbo. Life. Death. Everything in between.

    What does it all mean?
Nobody really knows but Mister Miracle explores a whole lot of it, as well as mental prisons, PTSD and how powerful a damaged mind can be.
In other words, this is a deep book. It's also kind of hilarious and full of heart and created with passion and care.
Check out what we think here, but definitely don't skip this one, Meatz n Cheezez!

  • #75 - Blackest Night [Eventus]

Welcome to our second ever EVENTUS (you have to whisper when you say that word tho).

Last time we did TMNT's City Fall, this time we zeroed in on DC's Blackest Night!

With Eventus, we record each issue separately, using the word "Eventus" as an audio page break for the listeners. It gives us the chance to deep dive into individual issues and roll with the event's twists and turns as they happen.

So what do we think about the Black Lanterns trying to destroy the universe and every shred of light and life within it? Well listen in and find out, ya filthy animal.

  • I Hate Fairyland Vol 1: Madly Ever After [Arc Analysis #46]

Be careful what you wish for.

The main character in this story, "I Hate Fairyland" finds that out the hard way. She wished for something, it happened and now she's bitter and usually covered in the blood and guts of cute fantastical creatures.
If that sounds interesting to you, don't miss out on our Arc Analysis episode of Madly Ever After!

  • First Glance: Gargoyles #1

"The spell is broken. And we live again! We are defenders of the night. We are Gargoyles!"

Back with another First Glance, Firrrrrrst Glance, with Goliath taking centre page. We rejoin the rock-winged-clan since last seeing them with the end of the 3 seasoned animated series in 1997. Even in all that time its still a New York state of mind as they sore the night skies!

Do we get more gargolyes, yes. More villains, yes! More love connections, yes? Buckle up for a Dynamite Entertainment production. Weisman and Kambadais lean off the ledge for this 2022 release.

  • #73 - Scott Pilgrim

Not many properties are adapted as a comic book, a movie AND a video game, but Scott Pilgrim, that sonofabitch, did it with flying colours. Well, Scott AND his amazing cast of friends (and enemies), but still...

In this episode, we talk about the 6 volumes, we talk about the movie, we talk about Toronto, we talk about the good, the bad and even touch on the video game a little bit too!

So if you love (or hate) the Scott Pilgrim universe, and like a good discussion, stop reading this and press play already!
