There have been several allegations against men in positions of power in South Africa, but what is being done about it. Stephen Grootes comments on the reaction that has come in sexual assault allegations against Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey in the United States. Stephen reflects on sexual assault allegations that have been levelled against Danny Jordaan and Simon Mofokeng. He asks why there has been inaction in light of these allegations. 

Stephen Grootes comments on the latest statement from the Russian embassy rubbishing claims that Russia was involved in the latest cabinet reshuffle. Yesterday the NPA withdrew charges against the woman dubbed “Mama Lion” for killing the man she walking in raping her daughter. Stephen makes the point in the comment that a judge, not the NPA should decide on her fate, but a judge of a court should, in that way, her freedom can be secured.

Spur put up a post on social media celebrating a waffle-maker who has been in the same position for 25 years. Stephen comments that it is complex and complicated to make judgment, was there an enabling environment for her to grow? Did she choose to be in the same position for 25 years?

Stephen comment was centered around the corruption and lack of leadership in Eskom and called for a fresh start for the parastatal with new people in there who know what they doing.
