Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa has labelled the Sunday Independent newspaper report which claims he had affairs with eight women as a 'dirty tricks campaign'. He says some students he supports financially have been used to make scandalous allegations against him. The paper claims one woman apparently miscarried his baby. It says the woman denied that Ramaphosa was the father, but a set of emails from his account prove otherwise. President Jacob Zuma's son, Duduzane, a business partner and friend of the Guptas, has launched a stinging attack on former finance minister Pravin Gordhan. In an open letter on Monday, Duduzane said he was selling all his shares in all Gupta-linked companies. He revealed that "all" his bank accounts had been closed due to his association with the controversial family.

Now Former Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan has referred an open letter from Duduzane Zuma to his lawyers for possible legal action. 702 host Stephen Grootes weighs in on this.

702 stand-in Breakfast host Stephen Grootes says he is very fascinated with the build-up to the highly anticipated boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor. The match will take place on Saturday. Grootes believes boxing used to be violence that was disciplined and controlled.

He says boxing legend Muhammad Ali greatly influenced the sport and used it to empower others. Grootes goes on to say that the showdown between Mayweather and McGregor is not about sport, but solely for monetary gains.

Grootes admits that social media can be helpful, increases productivity and serves as a useful news and media source. The Democratic Alliance's (DA) motion to have Parliament dissolved has been met with much criticism following last week's failed motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma. Opposition parties said the DA was misguided and was only interested in a regime change and not about removing Zuma. Breakfast host Xolani Gwala questioned whether the DA's motion has merit following "extraordinary scenes" that unfolded in Parliament.

The City Press published a report by the Council for Development and Enterprise which shows how learners lose out on 40 percent of schooling time each year due to errant teachers.
