August 14, 2010how to win friends and influence people book review final podcast by motormouth markHey this is Motor Mouth with the final ramp of of Dale(?) Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People, great book obviously it's been around for a long time, tons of people have read it. In the final chapters what he talked about was to trace some someone first as you as you lead into things you know and a lotta times you'd be like oh you're really good at mowing the lawn but you always forget to weed whip and if you can use and instead of but he thinks it's much better because the but just nullify what you said so if you if you could say you you did really said mowing the lawn and I like it too when the when it gets weed whipped well around the edges and it now looks great, sometimes that can work a lot more effectively just to talk about the use of drama and how people are so busy that sometimes things don't sync in so he had...more0minPlay

July 27, 2010Delivering Happiness final Podcast by Motormouth MarkAlright still listening to delivering happiness by Tony Shay and I really I'm loving the book. There's not a bunch of nothing bolts in it but it's just kinda historian and I'm I'm really liking a it a lot getting a ton out of it. He talked about how Amazon block them out or it's really a swapped and but Amazon just leaving them alone to run their own company. So they kinda traded out the their old venture capitalist fund. Sicoy(?) I think was the name of it. He was looking for a shorter term turn around and just at the profit side of it. For amazon he's more interested almost sounds like a little bit of of Tony Shay social experiment and Amazon really pushes their customer service in terms of terms of low price and some other....more0minPlay
July 12, 2010Delivering Happiness # 5___ back with you delivering happiness. Tony Shay spoke about his examples ___. They do a lot of really cool things. One thing that I was a little bit intrigued by they didn't really start working on my culture focus on it as a core of competency until they been open 5 years. So give me, give me a little pause you're looking to hiring and I kinda like do I need, just thinking about these things maybe instagate(?) different different activities and what not and I think that we can pick a way at it as we go. It's probably that never really ends. It's it's a journey not a destination. One thing that they did and I guess you can get it online is they have this zap(?) out book and it just started first with the employees and I said you know tell us what you think about zapos(?) and...more0minPlay
July 08, 2010Delivering Happiness take 4Hi, This is Mark with Delivering Happiness. Take four and we're about four hours into the Brooke. I'm enjoying it. Tony Shay is really just talking about what it took to get the company going and all these different challenges. So there's not really like meat and potatoes business advise but to me where I'm a business owner a CEO of the company it's really interesting to listen to the different struggle they have gone through and how difficult things are and how they just had to keep persisting through it. Basically as you said before Tony Shay made 40 mil selling his previous company and he gave up seven million by not sticking around for an extra year when Microsoft got it for this rest in peace thing they call it and ___ started a venture camp....more0minPlay
